Okay, MK4 was great for many reasons. One reason it SITLL stands out is this: FMV ENDINGS!! We need these again, and I don't mean Katas with text (god help us if that happens again) You did it in MK4/MKG for a roster close to the same side, but I speak for the community when I say, we eed FMV ending again, BUT, only if you have the time after the gameplay has been perfected. PLEASE

Yes, that was one of the main reasons I've loved MK4.
If they can do video intros, and a high-quality konquest mode with movement and and a crap load of dialogue (MKArmageddon), I know they can do video endings. I know for a fact it's not hard. They're just lazy.
yeah i definitely don't think katas are fitting for an ending but i just appriceated having them lol.
i'm really hoping for some FMV endings though, i've been wanting them since MKA was announced. but more than likely given the comic book nature of the game we'll probably get the classic mortal kombat story boardy endings.
which i think is fine two i was very pleased with them in MKDA and MKD. i just hope they're more than two each.

I don't want FMVs.
Hear me out!
I've always wanted FMV endings for MK since MK4, or even just cutscenes (because they're cheap, and the only expense would be the voice acting) but since MKvsDC is going to add nothing to the MK plot then they seem like a waste to me.

Boon already stated (on GTTV I believe) that the endings would be crazy and would include more than one character on the screen at the same time.
I dont see how endings could be crazy if they are still image or Kata's.
In my opinion, FMV endings were cofirmed just by the way Mr. Boon talked about them.

Thats simple many characters each doing their Kata at the same time it would be madness, madness I say
What I got, from the way it was explained on GT TV, was that there were only going to be two endings. One for the DC side and one for the MK side.
Which sort of makes sense, since you're not going to be playing through with only one character, but all of them. It switches as you go. So I don't think they'll have individual endings for characters. Just two Really big Endings, depending on which side you use.
I could very well be wrong here.. but that's what I got from the interview on GT TV.

Of course they need FMV endings again.
But this time make them in-game rendering so it doesn't waste all that much space and they can last longer than a simple 1.5 minutes. I want this game to be "epic" when I beat it.
MKA endings were a damn JOKE.
Perhaps some one needs to direct the MK Team to those Dead Fantasy videos on youtue
I say have two huge endings for each side AND individual endings.

FMV endings are a MUST on the next gen systems. If we get crappy katas again, it would be terrible!

O_O!!!!
I disagree with you buddy.
Not being canon shouldn’t be a reason to consider fmv’s a waste or useless, I dont see how that can make sense. I mean, it would still be fantastic to see Sonya speaking and kicking the crap out of whoever she is involved with, etc. It would still be awesome to see the MK characters in nex-gen glory talking and interacting in a cinematic way.
Since you like Sonya, just picture seeing an awesome nex-gen video of her in pure madness and glory.
Remember that despite the game not being canon, some things such as characters personalities and ways of speaking/behaving/fighting, etc., are. So seeing someone like Scorpion being Scorpion against Superman would be fantastic and extremely entertaining and 100% worthy and fun.

They're not necessary, but would be nice I'll admit. I liked the still clips as well honestly.

They've already done that so not sure what you mean by "caught up" lol they did it a while ago, MK has had FMV endings you know, MK:SM, MKM Sub etc. MK4 and MKG too remember?
It's a cool idea to see, but if it's going to take up a lot of memory I'd rather they put it to more important uses

Yeah, what he said
If they have the time, ok why not. But i'd rather see the game polished, than have a FMV at the end that i'll watch once and quite possibly never again.

alot of memory? its next gen systems!!! it can handle FMV's in fact it could handle a few hours of FMV if other games can have hours and hours of cutscenes then MK vs. DC can handle it plus its a fighting game it should have plenty of room for everything we want, plus they can just use the ingame graphics if they wanted since the game graphics are awesome.

Yeah, not having FMV endings isnt gonna set MK two steps behind the competition or kill the franchise.

I would really like cut scenes in story mode. I mean seriously, I hate playing a story mode when there is no story to follow. Having cut scenes that lead into the battles you go through in story mode will enhance the experiance in my opinion, and definitely having FMV endings for each side will bring closure when you have won the game, not to mention be sort of a reward for having finished successfully. I didn't like Kata's as endings, and quite frankly feel they were a rip off of Soul Caliber's weapons demonstrations that were featured in their last two titles.
The illustrative endings were ok, but I still didn't get the feeling I did when watching the endings of MK4 and Gold. Actually getting to hear the characters speak, interact with each other would be fantastic if time permits it. We rarely hear anything out of their mouths but grunts and groans when getting their asses hand to them on the battle field. Personally, I need more than that.

That's the impression I got, too. We need some sort of confirmation about this ASAP.
I personally would love FMV endings. I know that, like Keith said, this game won't contribute anything to the canonical MK storyline, but still, having FMVs present would at least serve as a basis for FMVs in following games, so they wouldn't have to put in so much effort next time. Plus, given the negatives of this game that I still haven't forgotten despite my understandable eagerness, they need every selling point they can have, and FMV endings is a must. Tekken is going to be kicking MK's ass endings/bio-wise if this game doesn't evolve in this department, especially with Tekken 6 coming out possibly around the same time.
No more still pictures for endings. They were fine five or ten years ago and they would of have been okay for a game with a roster the size of mka, but not now.
Some of the posts above have correctly stated in my opinion that these are now
next gen systems and space should not be an issue on a fighting game. That isn't a valid excuse anymore. We don't necessarily need fmv endings, I am fine with using the in game graphics.
On a side note I am in complete agreement with the above post about the katas from mka. All of them on screen at the same time would be madness. I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Maybe one day, but not yet.
