look midway, it's 2003, can we please have some FMV endings?? I was kinda dissapointed when i seen the kick ass opening and then i beat the game and it's stills!??!?! grrrrrrr i know the opening cost a lot and that is why there are no more fmv's, but geez, it's 2003 and i got a ps2, not a sega....

memory issues - point taken
time - you had more then enough time, we waited a long time
budget - sold millions of copies!!! YOU GOT MONEY!!! =)~ seriously a fmv ending would be so much more kick ass then that raiden voice (not even the good one (Chris Lambert)). I would not skip a fmv when i beat the game the first time, but i was dissapointed when i saw the stills the first time

Well tekken 3 and 4 did FMVs for every single characters ending. Twisted metal black had 3 FMVs each for like 18 characters. C'mon, even if they did it for half of the charcters i'd be happy.

I would like FMVs as well. Actually I'd take it further. If you finish on easy you just get stills, from there on the higher the difficulty, the more progressive the ending gets. Obviously when you finish on the highest difficulty then you get the entire FMV ending.

I think that would be a cery neat way of doing it. That would give us variety.
The only REAL problem is the money part. As for the memory, the 128 bits consoles can handle it. If you meant space, don't worry as well, since the DVD is large enough for it. It's a fighting game, so most stuff don't take all that much space, and if the DVD is enough for FFX and GTA:VC, it's certainly enough for MK6. The time is also not that much of a worry, since if they decide to do it, this time they can afford to delay the game a few months.
The only BIG aspect to take into acount IS money. According to Ed Boon, if they decide to make FMV endings, they'll want to make REALLY good ones, and that means hiring a specialized team, hired only to make the FMVs themselves. And you can say that Midway made lots of money from MKDA, it's true. The thing is that they also lost lots of money with most other games they released for XBox and GC (those were the 2 platforms they referred in their financial reports, I don't know whether they lost money for PS2 as well). Therefore, the money the made from MKDA was basically enough to pay for the losts in other areas. Also, you must remind that they also have spent money on MKDA, so part of the money they made goes to that. Ok, they could call it an investment (and if they do decide to get FMV endings, you may be sure that's what they'll call it), but they can't put their money on something this early into development. I mean, sure, the FMVs could come out great, the game could be a hit and be considered Game Of The Year 2004...but it also could end up being another MK4...and that would put Midway six-feet-under. So, there's alot to consider into getting FMV endings. I hope they decide to include them, but that depends on the money that will be spent until it's time to decide and how much they are sure the game will be a hit. It's MK, of course it will make money, at least to pay some bills. But if they spend more money than usual, maybe the money isn't enough to pay the amount of bills they need to.

If midway couldn't make an FMV video in mk:da or even in MK6 they should atleast have movies with real people in it with cool special effect powers and that would'nt cost much.

Heh, video FMV seams to always suck; Snatcher, anyone?. CG is leet and all, but the pictorial story lines are kinda leet as well. It's classic MK if you ask me. I'd be more than willing to sacrifice CG if more time were spent on character animation and overall design. $hi7, people bitch about not getting pits and a 2nd fatal, then when that's ran into the ground they piss and moan about the lack of FMV. But yeah, FMV would be nice; like i said though, take that time to develope gameplay. Anywho, peace and love ya'll.
