For those who like Sub-zero and Scorpion.....
There's a LARGE roster of OTHER fighters....try one of them...I'm rather sick of fighting against them on Xbox Live, just like a few others i've had the pleasure of chatting with. What's sad is most of the people i've challenged who USE those two don't know anything else besides Freeze,Ice Clone,Spear, and teleport attack and a few of their EASIEST combos........Can we say Cheap?
Now, Commence with flaming me because I know it's coming....
"Master Shake said it would dissolve me and then I would get clogged in the filter and then beavers would come and eat me. But that hadn't happened yet. "...."Master Shake told me to go in the freezer because there was a carnival in there. There was no carnival, it was a damn freezer! I got freezer burn, and I got mushed up against the chicken."

im kinda agree with you, even though my favorite character is sub-zero i must say there are many more great characters to use, for example, kenshi, jade, and specially baraka, this guy kicks ass

Yeah i agree to... Since ive played it for the first time, my fav is for now and forever Baraka... man hes almost invincible he has a great set of special moves and has great defensive moves too. His fatalities and hara-kiri are easy to pull off and he has a great look except that they dont look to different from one another. The only down side is that he doesnt have a lot of combos, his Blades style is great, its fast and has a lot of range.
Maybe Baraka will Rule Outworld someday !!! hehe

I love scorpion but he hasn't changed much since DA....I'm really enjoying the redone Sindel and Tanya....It's been awesome fun trying to get a good grasp on Sindel....
Next I'll be trying Havik and Jade....
BUT nice to see somenone on here agrees with me!

i also have to agree, scorpion is my fav char and i pretty much mastered em in deception (need to buy network adapter asap), but its time for a change, ever since mk1 through mk deception (cant count DA cuz i was a Frost whore), ive always picked scorp or subzero , in deception theres plenty of potential so im gunna try and master another char

Im a huge MK fan and i played as many different characters and i had a favorite overall in each of them. Theres nothin wrong with playin as your favorite character. But i used Quan Chi in DA and i like Noob in Deception. I will play as noob in every game he is in since he has been my favorite since he was created long before Deception. Ihope he comes back as a single character though instead of a dou
and why do people like Scorpion and Sub Zero so much? because it's easy to win with them...period. They are the king and ice queen of cheapness....Just my opinion....and Noob-Smoke are in a close third with Kobra right on their heals....heh heh

I was thinking the exactly same thing from socom. while it may be cheap people are allowed to do it and while its ok to express this opinion dont go overboard...as long as there arent thousands of threads about it I would say that its ok.
the main people that I think are cheap are
1. kobra (he has this stupid kick)
2. noob smoke (lotsa teleportin things)
3. baraka (always gettin those blades out)
4. then sub and scorp because even though they do have lotsa diff. combos they are all pretty long and dont do much damage on their own. kobras combos are like 4 hitters that hit 25s. If you wana hit 25 with sub you gotta do like a 8 hitter. so each person has his/her level of cheapness
I was also thinking it isnt the characters that are cheap (most of the time) its the person that uses them. If someone continuously does the same moves then ya, they are cheap. I hate doin this because its so freakin boring for me. so I always mix up my stuff and I hardly ever get the same chara twice (lesson from socom and the guns you choose
if your lookin for a challenge try kabal, kira and some of the other sucky chara.

nope, I love scorpion because he is badass and if I get the chance to play online I'll play most of the time with him
yup once again a few people miss my point....I do NOT mind losing....in fact I welcome it because it lets me know what I need to get better at...but when someone does the SAME damn shit OVER and OVER again it just gets tired. And sadly its people using those three characters who tend to do it. I for one am not trying to get a bad ass wining streak....I play for fun but I also play to better my skills. End of point...

I have to agree with vatani liek 30 out of 25 people pick scropian then the other 5 pick sub -Zero. Once in a while you might aget some on who pciks someone else. I myself have to say taht sub -Zero is one of my faveroites, but i try to not play as him and play with newer charecters. I usually am kobra or baraka and working on getting good with ashra. I dont want to sound liek im braging but im sick of killing scorpian come on people try out some of teh new charecters please.

I love playing with Scorpion, not because his combos are easy, but Hapkido is my favorite fighting style out of them all, it just looks like he is beating the shit out his opponent. I see what you mean, but every fighter has his weakness, just discover it and exploit it. Also, every fighter has a couple simple combos so don't bitch about that, XXX is something for almost everyone. I will continue to play with Scorpion, I like Liu Kang though, i think he might be my second favorite. Peace ya punk bitches.

I am a sucker for using Sub-zero.
I am a whore with sub-zero. I don't care about winning streaks either. I just want to Up my game with Sub-zero. If someone is a noob they will get hit with the freeze, or walk into an ice clone or whatever.
It doesn't mean it's cheap or that I suck, it means they are a noob. When I play advanced fighters, regardless of who they are, a freeze will never get them, Most will block, the pros will sidestep and counter.
Getting a decent player into an ice clone is pretty hard. In my battles I have fought against Nightwolf more often then sub or scorp. But when I do come across Sub, I usually have a better game. Because whenver a tactic I have or use is "defeated" I try and find a stronger tactic. As in a counter to a counter....etc...
Here is a basic ladder of progression...
1.
me: Freeze
noob: gets frozen, and beaten.
2.
me: Freeze
Amateur: blocks ...rinse ane repeat...(goes no where person with most health wins)
3.
me: Freeze
Advanced: Sidestep Freeze combo me to doom.. (no good for me)
4.
me: Ice Clone, Freeze
Advanced: Sidestep Combo into clone and frozen, then beaten.
This is a basic ladder.
Subzero vs XXX Opponent, will always have different ladders of progression to learn and by pass.
For one, Sub vs Sub is going to be different than a Sub Vs Scorp. As Scorp won't have an ice clone to worry about, but he does have a teleport to worry about from long range.
I don't always use Sub because he is my best fighter, I use him because I want him to be my best fighter against everyone.
An advanced player will have a best fighter against another advanced fighter. like say an advanced player will always win with Ashrah against Scorpion (their skills)
On the other hand when you get to an Experienced/Professional high level player, they can use anyone vs anyone else and be able to have a strategy and win. Once I have a strategic offense and defense against every other character with my Subzero, then I will move on to another character to Master. Likewise, some strategies will work between several fighters too and so on and so on.
I think it is lame when people complain if someone "always" uses the same character, or uses throws etc..etc.
Back in the Day of MKII, I was so good it didn't matter who I used. I could random select and kick anyones butt. But I usually just picked Shang because he could be anyone and I would every every fatality at my disposal. At the time, I could win without using sweeps/throws etc... So if someone cried about it, I would beat them regardless. In fact sometimes that's the only way I could make the game challenging anymore was to limit the arsenal of attacks. When I get to that level of gaming with MKD, I will start limiting myself to keep it interesting. It's not always fun to brutalize the opponent. ~CYD
