Well there you have it. That was your first mistake. Don't you think common sense would've kicked in and tell you, "Hmmmm, maybe the first few hundred PS2's that come out are going to have few malfunctions, etc." Pretty much prototypes. The exact same thing happened with the XBOX 360 and the PS3. The first few copies that came out performed shitty and didn't live up to their expectations. However several months go by and the next shipments of the consoles worked perfectly.

C'mon dude, anyone knows that when a console first comes out to the market it's smart if you wait a while and then get one. That way while you have your fully functional system everyone else is sending theirs back to Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or whatever for repairs that wouldn't have been needed in the first place if they waited. And also in hopes of the price dropping.

And you are still not listening,it wasnt just the first few 'hundred 'ps2's.....theres 6 gen's of ps2 and only 2 of them are 'fixed' and they still have probs sumtimes.


Then say you go to a pawn shop or game exchange and get one used....who knows what gen your getting,a couple of mine were used outa the 5.

I dunno im thinking of getting a ps3 since my last ps2 finally went,ill just keep my warenty and hope its still valid when sumthing goes wrong....but doesnt the ps3 have a prob playing ps2 games....like it makes the graphics kinda crappy.

The 80 gig has trouble with backward compatibility. The 60 gig plays PS2 and PS1 games perfectly fine. Not sure about the 40 gig but it probably has better chances than the 80. As far as getting the best, crisp, graphics from the PS3, they say play it on a HD T.V. or some shit like that.

Second..PS2s really are shyt....only the last generation of each size didnt have any major problems.

Its not cause he didnt take care of it (besides the fact we lived at a party house), its that so many ps2s only had a year or two lifespan from the factory. hes not an idiot, we did the research and were even able to repair a few ps2s, but they are each and every one doomsday devices, and im warning you all now, your ps2 will blow up.

If you gonna buy a Ps3...make sure you have an HDTV with HDMI slots. Then, get a trip fro Ebay.com for some easy purchases on your HDMI cables...cuz they basically go for 100-250$ less there.

Ps3'S backward compatibility is there for both 20 GB and 60 GB Ps3s. You get a game with 40/80 GB ones...but the game is complete crap...and the 20 GB aint gonna make that much of a difference.

If u plan on buying a ps3 to play Ps2 games...i sugest buying the Ps3-Ps2 controller adaptor...cuz ps3 controller sucks MAJOR balls when it comes to playing ps2 games ( Trigger R2-L2 VERY sensitive and will end up fucking your game) But it works wonders with ps3 games.

Here are some other interesting facts : PS3 > Wii > Xbox. People that rant about ps3 are ignorant and jealous. PS3 works great unless you play in a hot place for more than 8 hours straigh with the horizontal positionned Ps3. And if you do that...you will have a friend HD for dinnah! The Ps3 machine is Kid proof...Baby proof...Dog proof...even Sledgehammer proof (it took 5 sledgehammer hits from the first top shell to crak...and funny fact...the wii broke when the console got layed on the ground...and the 360 broke in 1 hit)


Face it...Sony makes great products...only the owner is to blame if his console doesnt work properly.
One more final thing...if you are going to buy a ps3 and games...Do not listen to IGN reviews...those are the kind of guys that will score the same game from 360 and Ps3 and the 360 version will have a better review....)

It looks like to me Player9 only did research on the x-box360....Ps2's especially the first ones were way worse then the 360's with recalls and poor design.

Im glad most of you guys have owned the same ps2 for years,but i know over 20 ppl that since 2002 have owned several ps2's do to recalls and read errors,some there fault and some sony's
