this should be interesting, the only other mk ive played on the next generation systems was mkda for gamecube, ( nobodys fuckin with the gamecube controller, too easy to sidestep ) other than mkd for ps2

speaking of which, can u use a gamecube controller on ps2?

Dude, don't be hating on Ed Boon. Modt of these desicions you hate come from Midway's Accounting deperatment who make the desicions to release it on other consoles. The MK Team (Boon and Co) usally have no say in the matter, and Gamecube only sold a decent amount of copies in the US enough to release it there, and there only. I think it sucks too as I am from Australia, but It's not Boon's fault.

I can understand that its not Boon's fault. But two extra characters is just not right. If people don't buy GC games, its Nintendo's problem. But releasing a better game on a cheaper console is not fair to people who paid more money to buy PS2/ Xbox.

EVERY Game company out there... adds EXTRAS to a game that is later released for another system. Examples... Medal of Honor (cube and box version have multiplayer... ps2 doesnt), Viewtiful Joe (ps2 has dante, cube doesnt), Resident Evil 4 (just released... but already hearing about new things for the ps2), Godzilla Destroy all Monsters Melee (2 new stages and monster for xbox version). Shall I continue? Please... PLEASE.. never bash Boon or Nintendo. It's dumb... simply because every company does it (the whole adding extras part). And usually they just add things... not take things away. In this case... they're removing online play, to make up for that, they add 2 characters. If you ask me, cube fans are much more jipped then ps2 and xbox owners.

I agree with you for the most part Sea_Serpent, but you must come the realization that NOT ALL ps2 and xbox owners have access to online play. Even with that aside, the online department in MKD (not to down the game, and I know I might get zapped for stating this) isn't all that bulletproof. As there are numerous glitches and & mod hacks (GS cheat devices) and there are VERY limited options to choose from online (cannot adjust the time & rounds for matches via Kombat etc.). It's not Sony's or Microsoft's fault that Nintendo doesn't support live play (Nintendo has clearly stated on numerous occassions that they don't feel that online is the wave of the future).

So, for the fans who don't have access to live-play on the xbox & ps2, who rushed out and bought MKD right when it arrived, it practically feels like Midway sending them a huge "SCREW YOU!" It's almost as if they're being at a disadvantage for something they don't own (live-play).

Did I get the impression from Atari that they said "SCREW YOU!" to me, after they released Godzilla for the xbox? (I have the cube version... was suppose to be an exclusive game, but was later released to the xbox with new arenas and a new monster). How did I feel after that? I didn't mind one bit. And this is the same situation with MKD. Sure I may have been disappointed a tad, but I realized its just a game... and that EVERY company adds extras to their games that are later released for other systems.

Don't have online play and bought the ps2/xbox version? OK... now you don't have the excuse of saying you don't have money to purchase a cube. Because you can sell your ps2 or xbox and MKD copy... and get a cube and MKD/cube. Problem solved.

One more thing... I even went out of my way and bought a PS2, just so I could get MKD early. A little before the game was released, people knew there was going to be a cube version. And it's alsmost common sense at this point that there will always be extras to a game thats later released on another system. People didn't want to "wait" tho, so they decided to get the other versions.... and now they complain.

Hey, did I ever say I didn't own an GC? I, in fact own all three current systems (and have online play for the xbox) and hardly play online on MKD (as I stated reasons above). I never said I personally had a problem with this, I'm not here trying to complain about this matter (for I could buy the game on GC if I chose), I'm just trying to look from a viewpoint of those who are less fortunate to own a GC or are not willing to purchase one just for two secret characters of whom should have been included in the original version of MKD.

How many GC Viewtiful Joe owners do you know that actually purchased a PS2 just to be able to play as Dante (even though he wasn't expected to be in the GC version)? Or how many Streetfighter fans do you know actually purchased SFA3 for the GBA just for two hidden secret characters?

It's only natural for one to assume that if they purchase a game as soon as it arrives only to have a later version be released on a different platform with bigger sprites, that they're being screwed. Again, these ARE NOT my thoughts.

Finally, it's apparent that NOT EVERYONE can afford the pay for the online fees (much less have the right modern & connection for those who are free). So as to your assumption of people who don't have only play being able to afford a GC? It's obvious that not everyone can shell out a hundred bucks along with another fifty (GC MKD) for a total of $150.000 just for two characters.

First of all let me ask. Why is Goro back in another game??? I thought he was dead. I dont like that. I would like to see Kintaro instead of Goro, Kintaro is bigger and stronger than Goro and looks better too. Now Shao Kahn.. thats another story. He looks badass, I've been waiting for this a long time. i already own the PS2 version but I'm getting the GC version only for Shao Kahn!!
