Liu Kang would be a shocker... I guess... If he came back all dark and mysterious or something, and we didn't know who he was until we saw his ending...
But I'd like to see Sheeva or Kintaro... Or at least one Shokan...

I'm guessing Kabal or Sektor, or someone else from MK3, it seems like there brining alot of them back.

I highly doubt Smoke is coming back. I'd say the two are Sektor and Another new character.

My guess would be that Smoke is coming back. But I hope that Kabal and Smoke are the next characters announced. I don't think Sheeva or Sektor will be back.

I hope to god that smoke is coming back.. Human smoke that is.. if Cyrax can be human again so can smoke... As for the next character.. My guess would be reptile.. So there we go... Smoke and Reptile.. Boo yaa!

I'd kill for Smoke back. I'd ask for Jade back, too, but I think there is a quota on how many superhot ninja-women there can be in one can before it loses all credibility.

but I think smoke (human) will be in it 'cause in the sketch of the nethership there's vague character that strongly resembles human smoke..

I saw Bo' Rai Cho in the magazine fighting Smoke
in the Neatherbelly.

I don't see Smoke making it back any time soon. I think Sektor will be the cyborg in this game, since MKTE started the whole story with him starting his own clan.

Other characters I think are certain right now are Kung Lao (like you'd get an MK without an Order of Light guy) and Mavado, since the Red Dragon have a big role now. I hope to see Johnny Cage and Nitara too.

If there's another surprise comeback, it could either be Liu or Shao Kahn. When MKDA came out, the team gave hints that these two MIGHT come back in the future.

Kitana. I have complete faith that Sonya will return. I know that *some* people don't like her but she is a fan favorite, like it or not. Plus she totally kicks ass! They would be crazy not to have her back. And my theory for Kitana, well she didn't die in the last game, so why not. it just seems logical. Also I think that, and this is only *My* opinion, Sindel being confirmed pretty much says 'to me' Kitana is in.

Good point about Kitana. She's another one I'd like to see, and from what you said, I'd agree her returning seems like a safe bet.

Sonya either needs a reworked storyline, or to be left out this time. I hope they don't use both her and Jax, as they play the same role. Better to keep one or the other.

Hmm, I'm not all in favour of "fan favourites" returning... we've seen too much of them and I've grown a bit tired of Midway feeling forced to bring back the same old chars over and over. But then again I, too, have my eyedolls among the classics...

I'm sorry to sound a bit negative here but the title of this thread is pretty idiotic; afaik there is not speck of evidence of Smoke returning and I really do not understand why so many people are obsessing over a palette swap character.

Anyhow, my guesses are that the next two announced characters will be one new and one classic character. The classic character might be a "real" classic like Kung Lao, Reptile, Raiden or Jax... it might also be Kitana or Sonya. I also reckon a character like Kai may have some chance of returning, no? Who the new character is going to be, I obviously can't know ;).

Hopefully Sektor and cyborg Smoke (I don't think Smoke can go all the way human again, but like Cyrax in can become more human than machine, but not totally human), or Raiden instead of Smoke.

so i think garbage ass mavado will be back, but in his ending, it will clearly show that kabal killed him, and then we will wait for MK7 to see kabal.

Shocking return? Someone of MK4 (Tanya, Reiko, Jarek, Shinnok, Fujin, Kai) except Quan Chi, or dead fighter (Liu Kang, Sub-Zero (MKM & MK1), Goro, Sheeva, Motaro, Kano, Hsu Hao & Kabal)

They did say we would be seeing alot of characters that haven't been seen since MK3.

Ermac, Nightwolf and Sindel aren't "Alot".

Baraka, Goro and Mileena were in MK:G. Sektor was in MK:TE.

So the only other charaters we haven't seen since MK3 are...
