is it possible the one with hotaru is a fatality. looks like ermac is doing something with his own neck in that picture. maybe hes using his telekenesis on hotaru? i dont think its a hari kari.
ya just look at the video, why is ermac moving his head like that if hotaru is killing himself. but i could be wrong. we'll find out in oct i guess.

That is Hotaru's Hara-kiri. In fact, I think that was the first one that I saw from video footage. It was stated that in earlier versions of the game, when a character did a Hara-Kiri, the winner (opponent) would go into his dizzy animation as a glitch. This has since been fixed.

its really his Hara-Kiri, someone already said this (i forgot who) but it was an early production and they just want to show what Hara-Kiri looks like

If Kenshi's is like a traditional warrior's hara-kiri....that will make some of the other "corny" ones worthwhile.

Quick question, is their a purpose for the hari kari's? Example, Fatality was obviously to kill your opponent, and friendships was kind of like a peace offering (in my view). Or is it just for fun? Thanks in advance

Yep, to not give the opponent the satisfaction of killing you.

MAN I wanna see scorps and Bo'rai Chu's animations SSSOOO BAD. I bet Bo drinks some poisin or somethin, starts barfin all of the place then starts shaking and dies. Scorps is gonna have to have one thats really intense! I think (ONLY THINK) sub zeroes will suck though, cause we all know it's gonna involve freezing himself or something along those lines. But his fatility is hella sweet at least!

Personally, I think it'd be just as good if Kenshi used his telekinesis to have his own sword chop off his head. Of course, decapitation is a part of the Japanese tradition, usually done by a close friend. Since it's unlikely Ermac would show up just for that, it'd be cool to see him finish himself off like that.

You want the Scorpion animations huh. Well I found 2 for you

Here's how I think the other Hari Kiri's'll go:
Scorpion: Lights himself on fire or stabs himself
Mileena: Tack spit fatality, except on herself
Li Mei: Kicks herself in the head or rips her own leg off & stabs herself
Raiden: Whacks his own head off with his magical staff
Noob Smoke: Kill Each other
Kira: Stabs herself in the temples with her daggers
Tanya: Somewhat like Li Mei's.
