Has Boon and the gang mentioned why some characters didnt make the cut?
Knowing that the final roster has been revealed some of us fans seem to be suprised to see this game not include characters that a majority of us here on MKO find to be iconic and to my knowledge were not mentioned at all in regards to this game.
These characters are:
Johnny Cage
Kung Lao
Mileena
Reptile
Goro
Also, the DC universe had not included some characters that shocked and dissapointed as well.
These characters are:
Green Arrow
Lobo
Martian Manhunter
Braniac
Doomsday
I hope to get more information on this if I happened to look past it. And if nothing has been mentioned before, maybe in an interview with the MK Team this question could be adressed?

They havent said anything yet, the only place were we see them mentioned if on the poll, I guess.
I really hope we get Johnny Cage and Mileena.
Both are extremely iconic and popular.

Popular maybe but not Iconic if they were iconin the would be household names like Scorpion and Sub-Zero are.
I also remember them losing the poll to Kung Lao and Reptile...just saying
Anyway, they probably wont because no fighting game ever explains it and they don't really need too either
As for why Lobo aren't in it's simple.
Lobo is not that well known and hasn't had his own book since the 90's.
He would have been cool sure but i can understand.

Yeah, they’re all pretty iconic, and the reason for this is we wanted characters that were easily recognizable for players that were not necessarily familiar with these universes.
For example; we may have an MK fan that knows every MK character and his or her back story but may not have an idea as to who Canary or Black Adam are. The same could said for the DC fan: They may not know who Kenshi is or Bo Rai Cho are.
By choosing the characters we have for the game, it makes it much more accessible to a larger audience. But this wasn’t the only factor, we also wanted to make sure that each character in from each universe had a counterpoint. I can tell you, when it came to the decision process for this roster, it got pretty headed between the team members. In the end, I think we found a good balance. Hopefully the fans out there will agree.
