Netherealm at the big open ruin site where you fight quan chi. If you have beaten the konquest Quan Chi will be standing right by where it apears. I'm not sure what time.

I think it was around 10pm when the chest appeared. Right in the middle of the ruins (A-1, I believe). Didn't have to fight Quan Chi, though.
