help playing Catwoman

I am having trouble playing her.

Lows? She only has two crap normal lows and b,f+3 which is inconsistent if they're near her.

The range on all her whip moves are unreliable, I swear it's random. Sometimes the tip hitting is enough sometimes part of the whip can be passing through them. Punishing projectiles with the air whip is tough, sometimes the projectile will hit me anyway as it passes under me. Scorpion's spear will even go upwards! If the whip moves worked better she'd be able to deal with projectiles...

Anyone else frequently seeing the glitch where after b,f+2 hits the drill kick hits an invisible wall and does no damage?

The b,f+4 pro move whip also whiffs all the time.

Reliable juggles after b+1 and d,f+3? The ones I use offline hardly ever work online. especially the d,f+3, I can only get d,f+3, d,f+3 to hit reliably.

She seems awful but it's entirely possible I don't know what I'm talking about. Any other strats are welcome. ty

and btw my staple juggle off 1,1,b+1 and b+1 and d,f+3 is b+1, 4,2, b,f+2.

b+1, b+1, 4,2, b,f+2 = 41%

Please don't double post. If you need help. Look for moves that are safe enough to use, ONLINE. As lag sometimes makes bad moves offline, good online. SOMETIMES.

Well,

Her whip does have a strange hit box, it hits when it shouldn't and misses when it should hit. There's no reason to use b,f+3, it's slow as hell and misses alot.

I only use d+3, it's not good, but it's her best, and you can connect it to d,f+3 which leads to nice options.

As for staple juggles that works online, I like simply, b+1/d,f+3 - b+1, 1, 1,1,4,b,f+4,d,b+1. I think it's over 40%. If you like you can skip the extra 1 before the long string to make it easier.

d,f+3 hits mid as far as I saw, but I didn't played her much.

I only use:

d,b+1 (in air)
d+1
d+3/d+3,d,f+3.
1/ 1,1

That's preety much it, you can throw in there some normal d,b+1 b+1, or d,f+3 but that's what I use.

Catwoman is my character too...

I think she's bad, real bad. So far at least...maybe something will dawn on me. Here's why I think she's not very good compared to the rest of the cast.

Her whip moves are all slow to come out and have huge lag time on block and whiff. And they are all high. And in a game where most of the combat is in 2D, they are also sidesteppable. They dont have the range of projectiles either. Her low whip is slow and goes right through the opponent up close. She has no other lows that are really good.

Her airwhip deals very little damage and you are taking a big risk by jumping against certain characters, and even if the projectile doesnt track you in the air the timing has to be prcise or you get hit on the way up or down. The other thing about it that bothers me is it actually stops your jump momentum and carries you backward. Since most characters can outrange you with projectiles and other specials which are faster than yours, you have to get in somehow. It seems like a move that was made for jumping and getting in, but it doesn't. It leaves you with the same problem you had before you decided to jump.

Her cartwheel seems like her best special move, but again, you have to somehow get in against the opponent to use it, plus you can low guard it. Yeah, she doesn't have a single special that hits true mid (hits crouch guard).

When I saw her before I started playing, I thought she might be usable as a keep away type character. Unfortunately she gets beaten at midrange because her specials are very slow and she has no long range game at all. In a game where characters have projectiles and teleports, she gets totally outclassed there.

Up close, she's either even or inferior, but at least it isnt as bad as at range. Her cartwheel is ok as a whiff punisher, and she has jabs and launchers up close, but it's not something everyone else doesn't have.

I'm still gonna try to make her work. If she really is just that bad, I'll aim to be the best catwoman player around. I'll make it a goal to be unbeatable catwoman vs. catwoman.

But yeah, here's hoping for a patch. Sorry to complain so much.

Try the combos, she goes up and down in them.
