I think he is a memebr of red dragon

I STILL haven't seen him. haha.

I really can't make an opinion about him, considering we've only seen one pic of him and it was a small, hard to see little pic. He looks cool, from what I gather, and I hope he plays as good as he looks, but I'd rather see a better pic of him. I'm willing to be he's a servant of the Dragon King.

He might also be Raiden's dark side

Hotaru definitely looks cool. MK has always needed a samurai type character for a long time. I remember how cool Takeshi was in Mace: The Dark Age (if anybody actually remembers that game). He had a cool fatality and was just an all around badass.

One thing though is I wonder if we'll ever see a European knight type character?

From the looks of it, Hotaru looks pretty cool. Definately reminds me of a samurai, IMO i think hes probably on the DK'S side, so i'm thinking hes evil. We'll just have to wait and see.

That looks like the concept sketch that was in the krypt on MKDA; Dairou. Notice how Dairou sketch resembles a samurai and this helmet as well. It must be him.

No i thought the same thing, that the flags were part fo the level. But in the PSM, the three pictures that feature hotaru HAVE the flags right behind him. They are FOR SURE part of his costume. I think its cool.

But since he LOOKS human, what role does he have in Deception? b/c i read that "earth" warriors might not be represented.

Samurai wore those flags on their back to either A) Represent their Clan, or B) Show their division (As in Archer, spearman, ect...)

Anyways, Hotaru looks badass. I have always wanted a samurai in MK, and the closest we've come is Kenshi.

I was also thinking he would be some kind of general. Btw, isn't it possible that he is drahmin in his human form? You know, he did change when he fell in Quan chi's sanctuary.
Or he could have something to do with Kenshi, they would be rivals or something. Right now, his look kinda reminds me of Yoshimitsu in Soul Calibur 2, i mean those flags.

More likely than not, Hotaru is the Dragon King's right hand general. Maybe he gets some body from the good guys to cross over, like Frost or Sub-Zero.

Personaly if you ask me..Hotaru looks like one of those acient vampire guys with the armor..Ive seen alot of guys with that kind of look in a few animes..dunno thas jus my input..but as far as red dragon and blaze go..I doubt it..who knows he might be some neutral party who just got involved.. AND KEEP IN MIND IN RAIDENS ENDING!!..it stated there was a new era of vampires arising and alot of new challenges ahead..So in my opinion he is a vampire..white hair pale skin and dark armor..thas definately a given..
