Well, I for one, am crossing my fingers hoping the MK team has the smarts to put him in. It's true that Raiden wasn't selectable in MK3/UMK3 but it's also true that those games did not reach the popularity of the ones that had him in them i.e. MK 1/2/4/5. MK3 fizzled rather quickly. Sure MK3/UMK3 has their fans and made "some" money. He is a key player to the MK franchise. I would call Raiden the money man, and my personal favorite for 12+years. He is not the only character I would characterize this label with. There are others. I think it's perfectly fine to add new characters to the games to attract new fans and give the games a fresher life, but when you take away fan favorites, that's not right! Why can't the games be made with more characters? People want choices, but they also want their usual selections aswell. LOL.

I hope Raiden dies at the hands of Quan Chi in the beginning of the game. Raiden needs to die and take his place among the Elder Gods.

maybe Raiden is in MK:D,maybe not,there's no confirmation yet....but if he's returning,i hope that he doesn't have the "electrocution fatality",i'm bored of that shit,always the same fatality for him....

C'mon, if Raiden isn't in this game, then my chances of buying it are low.I wanted to also say how could they put Ermac instead OF RAIN!!! I mean Rain is waay cooler than Ermac because of Rain's abilities(Lightning) while what? Ermac has telepathy.If Raiden isn't in the game as well as Kung Lao, well, my bro can buy the game for himself and not include me in it.

Even if Raiden does die, it doesn't mean he can't come back. Look at Scorpion and Johnny. If they can come back after being killed why not a god? For all we know, Raiden being killed is one of the Deceptions in the game. He could pretend to be dead to fool the Elder Gods or Dragon King and take on a new form. I believe someone else mentioned that one of the new characters could be Raiden in another form.

It has been rumoured that Rayden is murdered in the intro by the Deadly Alliance, whether or not this is true or not I don't know but I have heard it from two respected members of the MKO - one of them has been proven to be right on what he says on numerous occasions..

Dude!!! If Raiden aint in it, I'm gonna be pissed off. Same with Kitana. I want to see her beat Mileena's ass. Or the other way around. Its a chick fight, with BOOBS!!! Lol. Raiden is the best. I've been waiting w/ bated breath for his confirmation.

raiden was very, very cool in mk1 and mk2. mk4 was the beginning of his demise in my eyes. mk5 he was a pale version of his former glory. taking away his torpedo and teleport was insanity and making his cool electricity waves into white spark blobs was WEAK. if he is gone i shall not miss him. if he comes back, make him the crazy, screaming mofo he was back in mk2, not the christopher lambert jobber with a stick like mk5.
