How could this possibly be a toss up between Noob and Reptile?

Yeah, if Reppy's in it (most likely will be) I hope his costume looks like his MK:SM or MK 4 look showing off his "reptilian looks"
The Sub-Zero we see in the MK vs DC render seems to have no scar. This means that this Sub-Zero is the one from Mortal Kombat II, who technically is Noob. Having the old Sub-Zero and Noob in one game wont make much sense.
MKII Sub-Zero is the Sub-Zero we see in the versus render. I'm guessing Reptile is going to have his MKII look as well.

Both Sub's were in MK2(storyline) but I think it's the current Sub honestly and not C.Sub from MK1 aka Noob-Saibot now.
As for the render, we don't know that just yet. It could be the newer/current Sub-Zero with his scar on his other eye or perhaps healed or gone due to something that happened in MKA events. We'll find out soon though either way. It's most likely the current Sub though, Noob would have to literally somehow morph back into his old self for it to be MK1 Sub-Zero or this game takes place earlier which won't be the case since boon said they'll explain the post MKA plot leading into MK vs. DC.
In regards to the render, my honest opinion is the Midway marketing department doesn'tknow the intricate details of the characters like we do. To answer the topic of this post, Reptile is definetly a Mortal Kombat icon. However you will get more mileage out of Noob's new storyline direction from mkd. I love them both.

The Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat II was the current Sub-Zero, before he received his scar (if you remember, Noob Saibot was a secret character in MK2). Furthermore, if you look at the Sub-Zero renders from Mortal Kombat: Deception, Sub-Zero's scar has healed. It could just be that Sub-Zero no longer has a scar.

Was just about to say that, but since we just learned from one of the newer interviews with Boon saying this is indeed "post MKA" not pre or before...it is the same Sub-Zero we all know currently(with the scar) we just don't know yet why he doesn't have it, reason or if it's even gone completely. Who's to say it's not on his other eye...or healed so it's looks like it's not even there...
@thrawn, I don't think the marketing team has much to do with the actual "drawing" I think they just wanted to get the render out there fast to please the fans. Little details like the scar will be addressed at some point I'm sure.....and even if it's not say, it's one of those trivial things but I'm guessing it's healed or something

Wellz.. in the other hand I like Noob Saibot and I've always been a reptile fan.
Guys if you look closely at the vs render and the teaser trailer you will notice that sub zero still has his scar therefore it is the younger sub zero. It is the blue line under his eye, im very surprised nobody here has noticed it, it also was clarified in another thread.
Plus to those who think it was C,Sub in MK2, read his and scorpions endings in that game it will tell you that its younger sub zero, he just didn't have the scar then. Also to further point noob is in that game as well so theoretically it would not make sense even though they may not have planned to make noob the C.sub then.
Also i like both reptile and noob and hope both make it in the game, reptile as a standard playable character and noob as a super secret unlockable as he has played that role in a number of MK games.

Reptile No Contest . dont get me wrong i like noob but the only reason anyone really likes him is because he is all black other than that there isnt really a whole lot more about him....(the whole sub bro thing was just a quick fix to fit him in a story.
