Obviously we know MK:D will incorporate online playability. How do you guys believe online will work? I personally hope they do it the way the old arcades were, for example, when you won a versus match, you would keep playing and fight new people, keep building your wins total until you lost.

How does the SSX3 online work may I ask? The only online game I have is Jedi academy for PC. The way it works is that you just hit a button and this browser like thing lists all servers and what not. I hope MK6 does the same

I'm sure it'll more than likely work the same way that a lot of online multiplayer games from Champions of Norath to Diablo 2 to C&C and such work with the chatrooms and server side listings and such, but we'll know in a few months, so i am not gonna worry about it until then. I just hope it's NOT gonna cost.. i'm already gonna be paying for FFXI, i don't wanna pay more for another game to be online.

It may be set out like certain rooms much like what you see on Age of Empires Servers or Command and Conquer where you could see how many people were waiting for a game.. Its too early to say at the moment.

The games that cost monthly to play have said cost because $$ is needed for mainframes, servers, upgrades, and things like that. MMORPG's cost to play online because so much info has to be stored on their end. (World, Character's/Character Info, new monsters, random spawn for world, a staff to update and patch, the list goes on) I do not see why MKD would be pay to play. I've only ever heard of paying monthly for mmorpgs. There may be other games where you have to, but I don't know about them.

I don't have to pay for EA games, Socom, Twisted Metal, NWN, UT, or UT 2003. I expected FF to be pay to play, as well as EQ, but don't see MK going that way. Unless, we can take our characters into an MMORPG enviroment while online, and challenge other players to fight when we bump into them.

Depends on what the time delay is- a half second delay in between pushing the button and it being performed on screen could spoil the fun.

I like that arcade style thing you're talking about. I hope they do it like that. There should also be another way too like private rooms/games so you can play with friends without having to put your quarter on the screen panel so-to-speak. I'm also hoping for mic capabilities or some way to communicate. It's no fun if you there isn't some playful name calling while dominating or the occasional swear when getting jacked.
