It was pretty cool for a GBA game, only 120 krips though.

Well I am playing it right now!!! LOL Let me break it up into the good old categories.

Gameplay: Very well done. Each character has unique moves. There aren't any weapon styles, but there are like about 3 weapon attacks per character. You start out with 7 characters and you unlock 3 from beating the Arcade mode on certain difficulty levels. You unlock Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in the Krypt. I like using Scorpion and Sub-Zero a lot. (not a surprise!!! LOL) Jax and Kung Lao are quite good as well. There were some things I noticed that were a bit interesting. For one thing, they've got that whole attack 1 and attack 2 thing instead of just punch and kick. Then the buttons combined with the direction arrows give you different attacks. However, there were similar moves, like Sub-Zero's Shotokan uppercut (
Graphics: There was a bit of choppiness, but overall the graphics were awesome. The choppiness was due to the fact that they made the game 3-D and there was a lot of detail into the character models and backgrounds. And they were well detailed too, especially Scorpion. I wished there could have been more than one animation when someone falls down. They always seem to fall down on their face which was opposite of how it was in previous MK games. But I didn't really care much anyway. The graphics overall were great (a bit of redundance, I know!! tongue) 9.5/10

Sound: The music in the game was pretty well done. The sound effects themselves were ok. They were a bit funny though. They weren't the best, but they were decent. It was very funny to hear some of the people say stuff like BANANA!!! This usually occurs during Scorpion's Pi Gua style, but it happens with other male characters as well. I still think that the music needs to be more like the MK1/MK2 asian/techno/evil type music. 8/10

Value: This has some good replay value because of the Krypt, but after you've unlocked everything, the replay value does go down a bit. Even so, this game is great and has some of my favorite characters. I just wished that characters like Rayden, Nitara, and Reptile were in here. Still it gets a 9/10

Tilt: I have to tilt this game towards a high level, because of the evolution in the story and gameplay. Mortal Kombat is back and ready to crush the competition!! grin I tilt it towards a 9.5/10

Overall, I have to give the game a 9 or 9.5 out of 10, but maybe you should wait for MK:DR.

Normally I would wait for MKDR, but considering that I'll be spending huge amounts of time tyhis coming summer on a bus, I need some mortal kombat accompaniment. Don't worry, it and SFA 3 Alpha and Advance wars 2 will keep me company. I will get DR though...

Well MKDA for the GBA has the "Link Mode". I'm not sure if that means it's the whole 4 player thing, but I do know that you can battle against another person. MK:DR will have great capabilities, like multiplayer, and you can connect it to the GBA version of MKDA!! smile

If you want me to tell you about the 12 characters individually and stuff like that, let me know.

Only $30? Well, I played Tkken advance on the GBA, and it was my first fighter on a handheld, followed by SSF2 Turbo Revival, both of which I thought were awesomely fun, except for the lack of replay value. Is MKDA better than those, and How about th replay? And please do give as much info as possible about the game. I Bought GBA SP today and have a long drive upstate coming this Weekend.

Well let's see.... I'll talk about the characters and their styles. Pros and Cons, etc. I'll do the first 4 characters.

Shang Tsung: With a more improved look, the evil sorceror makes another return.

Snake: Snake is a style with many hand oriented moves, so there aren't many kick moves. It can be useful, just be careful because there aren't really any useful moves except for the --> + B move. Most of his other Snake moves involve hitting the opponent with a snake shaped fist.

Crane: In this game, Crane is a bit slower than Snake, but probably a bit more useful. This style is somewhat of an "opposite" of Snake when it comes to moves. This style focuses more on kick type moves than hand/punch type moves. There are some roundhouse kicks and moves like that, so you might find it a bit useful. Just be careful with this style as well.

Overall: It will take time to master Shang Tsung. His weapon moves can come in handy and his --> + B Snake move can help a bit along with some of the Crane moves. He's not someone I use a lot, but he is still kind of hard to beat on the GBA. He does have a sliding move and the fireball, but best of all, he morphs!! smile However, it doesn't last as long as it does in previous MK games.

Quan Chi: I liked his look in MK4 a lot more, but still, he's ok.

Tang Soo Do: This style is not really anything special in this game but it's the better of the 2 styles. I can't really say much about it, except that you should try to learn how to master it.

Escrima: This style is slower and less useful than Tang Soo Do, but you might find it to be "OK". More of hand attacks..

Overall: He's an ok fighter. Use his sliding move and his Green Skull to help you when you are in trouble and also rely on your weapon attacks. He's kind of hard to beat with some characters because of his weapon attacks and sometimes his other moves, but he shouldn't be too hard.

Kenshi: This telekinetic rogue swordsman is a newcomer to the MK world and I like him so far.

Tai Chi: This style suits his character very well despite his Japanese origins (I think he's Japanese, but I'm not sure. His bio mentions about him going throughout Japan, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's Japanese, so I could be wrong.) Well anyway, his Tai Chi attacks are good. His "Chi Launcher" (very nifty name I came up with) (--> + B) is very useful and it sort of launches the opponent. He has two roundhouse moves in this style. The + A move. He is relatively fast and relatively strong in Tai Chi.

San Shao: In the console versions of MK:DA this style is spelled San Shou. Don't think this is some sort of Shao Kahn style!!! lol This style is a bit slower and not quite that special, but it's still pretty good.

Overall: You should stick to Tai Chi and don't rely on his Telekinetic moves too much, because you need to be somewhat close in order for them to work.

Scorpion: This ninja spectre has some good moves and is very reliable.

Hapkido: I found this style to be the more useful of the 2. I use his kick moves more than his punch like moves. His Up + A move does a high kick and his A move does a side/medium kick. These are his 2 most useful kicks. The other 3 A moves are sweep/low kick moves.

Pi Gua: While defensive and crazy looking, Pi Gua takes a lot of effort to master. This style focuses more on hand moves. His --> + A move is what I call his "Bitch slapping" move.

Overall: Just use his Hapkido style and try to also use Pi Gua if you want to. Scorpion is a fast and strong fighter and like I said before, is very reliable to use.
