Not because of storyline reasons either.... I just sort of forgot about him, which I find odd since he was like the main guy.... Anyone else? He didn't even really cross my mind until I read something about him.

I think people are beginning to see Subzero or Kung Lao as the main character. At least that's the case with me. My interest in Lui Kang faded with MK3.

I have always liked Liu Kang, but he got stale. Liu Kang has had the same outfit since MK2 and hasn't really changed his movelists either. But it is too late now to bring Liu Kang back because he is dead so its best if we forget about him and pick a new guy to lead the pack.

With mortal kombat it's never too late to bring back the dead.

that doesn't necisarily make it cool
Liu Kang was too plain to me...never had much room for change or depth.

In pretty much every new MK game, you knew what to expect from Liu Kang. Plus, storyline wise in the game, he just does nothing but represent goodness and being wholesome...and to be honest...who needs that? lol...NOW if he were in this game and HE were the deceptor...and turned evil...that would create SOME kind of interest from me...since like Slica said...I never had any major interest in the character at all.

He just seemed like an ordinary character to me, i wasnt to much into him. But i'm glad how there are new things happening, and that there are new warriors to fight against evil. I like how subzero is one of the huge focuses on mk.

I have never been to much of a Liu fan but i think he was kind of an important character to have in MK, in every fighting game there is a simple character with basic moves and is easy to use.
eg. Tekken: in Tekken you have Law anybody can use him
Street Fighter: Ryu and Ken have the same moves the only thing that makes them different is there looks and there throws are different but all there moves are identical and WAY easy to pull off.
Liu Kang is that important character for beginners of all ages to use so they can get the basics of the game down and get hooked enough to want to try other characters with harder moves. A lot of people still enjoy the simplisity of some characters and Liu also adds a very asian feel to the game glasses

oh hell no did i forget about the Kangster. He's the pimp daddy supreme of the tournament...i still wish he was in DA (tho i loved the scene where he got his) How cool would a rendition of a 3D kang be?!?! i mean, they had Cage and not KANG!?! thats some sh*t. Kang would have the BEST COMBOS, THE BEST USE OF COMBAT, THE MOST IMPRESSIVE FIGHTING STYLES, AND OVERALL THE MOST FUN TO PLAY AS. I was so dissapointed with Bo Rai, who wants to play as a fat martial artisit?

I personally got the idea that Scorpion is the "Hero" as of MK:DA.

Alrighty listen up. Liu Kang was getting tiring; the creators knew this. They killed him, but that doesn't exlude him altogether, johnny cage has died so many times I bother not even to remember. As the case with any ongoing series there is a story element that has missing pieces. There has already been several changes in story since it's inception, and doubtless am I as to ever think as MK fading. Long live MK!

Kang should forever stay dead, like Shao Kahn. Period. the only place i want to see kang in MK: Deception is in Konquest, seeing that every single MK character is going to be in it.

You know, you took the words right out of my mouth, the creators noticed he had become rather stale, and just basically overall annoying (IMO anyway) so they killed the bastardgrin If it were my decision I would have based MK around someone like subby from the beginning

The only way I would want to see Kang was if he was evil, say like Shang ressurects or something to do his bidding, and have a black steal colar chained around his neck since it's broken. Give him somewhat of a new look, torn black outfit, scars, etc. and a new moveset, then and only thenwould Liu ever be appealing to me!

Liu Kang is a big part of the story in Mortal Kombat. He has to be in the story somehow, the developers can't just leave him out. I would rather not seem him playable in the game, but be part of the story.

I would like to see him in the body of Kano in MK:D. But I wouldn't want a playable "Liu-Kano" to take Liu Kang's place. That's not Mortal Kombat. That's silly. Even if Quan Chi's MK:DA ending isn't true, Liu Kang should not be playable.

I hated Liu Kang with a passion in MK 2 (the AI could pull off those air fireballs in a split second right as you jump towards him), but before and after that he didn't really bother me. To tell you the truth, I thought it kind of sucked when he died. Don't get me wrong, it was perfect for the story and it worked very well, but seeing it actually play out and watching Liu Kang get totally cheesed by Quan Chi after laying waste to Shang Tsung made me mad. It really got me amped to play the game and ruin Quan Chi's day. So all in all I wouldn't be upset if Liu came back in Deception.

No he was never stale! He could still whoop everyone's tushee right up until his final appearance in MK Gold! In fact, I think the 3D element only made him more powerful!
I wish he would return in MKD! It would be awesome to see him give a flying kick or bike and opponent through a wall or barrier! Just awesome!
