Honestly.
Can someone explain that?
Can someone explain that?
Noob is a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow, led by Shinnok, and therefore, at this time, Quan Chi has power because he still serves Shinnok. Seeing as how Noob is one of Shinnok's most powerful generals as well as having a history with Scorpion (they murdered each other) and Sub-Zero (his brother) yeah......

I'm surprised noone's mentioned that he's a character who shares "violent history" with both Sub-Zero and Scorpion, as well.

Noob being the the first Sub-Zero is the stupidest thing ever. Actually
both Noob and Smoke shouldn't have made it past MK2 as Retard Strength versions of Scorpion.

I think Noob was good as this mysterious shadow warrior. But yeah, when they said it was actually Sub-Zero reincarnated, that put me off, big time.

Well, I'm the kind of person that prefers some things to stay mysteries. Like, if they were to suddenly reveal Quan Chi's origins and give us all the little details about his race and where he comes from, etc., I think it would make me like Quan Chi less.

**respectfully disagrees** Noob was nothing more than a "retard strength version of scorpion" until his story in Deception made him otherwise. Was one of the better stories to come out of that game.

I hated it. They should've let the older Sub-Zero rest in peace. Besides, he never struck me as 'so evil that he has to become a wraith'. Okay, so his soul was tainted as established in MKM:SZ, but I think they exaggerated it a bit. Considering he spared Sareena's life in the Netherealm, he really couldn't have been THAT evil.

That had nothing to do with evil.
Who said he would not kill her right after they bested Shinnok? Evil does not equal with unrestrainable urge to kill... besides you have the choice to kill her anyway, and MKM:SZ can continue without Sareenas life intact. She dies anyway.

Valid point,he did spare Sareena...
Counterpoint, the man was an murderer by trade.

That's why I liked it.
While he was a cold-blooded killer, the older Sub-Zero wasn't all bad. And in Mythologies, he didn't want to become Quan Chi & Shinnok's slave and defied them. But then Scorpion kills him and he ultimately was turned into exactly what he didn't want to be. And who do you thnk even made it possible for Scorpion to leave the Netherealm to get his revenge in the first place?
Small clarification: Quan Chi actually ran the Brotherhood of the Shadow and the clan worshipped Shinnok.

But my biggest problem with it is that it virtually eliminated any possibility of him clearing his soul and coming back AS Sub-Zero, which would've been an interesting possibiity to consider in future MK games.
Now, older Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot cannot coexist.

I don't see that as a big loss. I'm happy with the current Sub-Zero. And besides, the older Sub-Zero having his soul cleansed and turning good...
Way too wishy-washy for my taste. We can't always have a happy ending.

Well, I guess that's all okay, if you're happy with the current Sub-Zero. But after MKDA turned him into an old man, I was hoping to see a younger Sub-Zero in the future.
And besides, he wouldn't have to cleanse his soul. He could've come back as a Specter, like Scorpion.

Having this being a game based around both MK and DC, it may be possible that Scorpion and Sub-Zero may have had a quarell with someone on the DC side, thus pissing off someone in that universe making him/her want to come to the MK universe. Then Liu Kang found out about it, confronted Scorpion on his hot-headedness, and now Scorpion's all like:
"Oh no! What have I done!? I should have never done that! I'm a bad boy!"

Granted your point. It could be any one of Shinnok, Quan, Noob, or Reiko. Or maybe even the females of the Brotherhood of Shadow.
However, I don't believe it is Shinnok, because I don't believe Shinnok works for Quan, therefore it could be Reiko, but I would go for Noob just to be a safe bet.
But like I said, your point granted and I could be wrong.

I was thinking... Is it at all possible that someone from the DC universe is working for Quan Chi? In this storyline, I mean.

Absolutely. Why not? I don't see this game being cannon, do you?

Because lord knows if the crossover was canon both side would stand at opposite ends of the dance hall to avoid interacting...

I agree with you 100%.
Using Noob Saibot to bring back Sub-Zero seem cheap and desperate. I'm tired of all these "MK Loopholes." If someone does, let that person die. =/

I agree, I also believe that plot twist was planned for Noob since he was introduced.
Noob turning out to be the dead MK1 Sub-Zero was the biggest wtf moment for me in the entire franchise. I didn't like it. Not one bit.
MK is worse than any comic book. MK is a franchise build around death, yet ironically no one ever stays dead.
