Of course that MK7 is a Fighting Game, MK: Shaolin Monks is an apart game, an adventure game based in the time of the MK2, and MK7 is a fighting game after the events of MK: Deception.

Yeah like Shinomune stated that MK7-Fighting Game and MK:SM-Adventure Game.
I don't think MK:SM is a sequal or prequal to any of the MK adventure games. It's just another adventure game in the series that tells the tales of Liu-Kang and Kung-Lao from MK2 to just before/beginning (of) MK3.
And ehhhhhhhhhh.....I don't think it's a big deal right now to make a topic on what was said in the sticky post in the MK:SM forums considering there are not that many posts about it yet. Everyone makes mistakes but it is always a good idea to read the stickies and rules before posting. No worries.

It was said that MKSM is set to place place during the events of MK2. MK7 will release in about two to three years (more than likely two to keep up with the annually releases) for the next generation systems. Final.
