I finally got to play as Johnny Cage in Practice Mode!

Well its a start... First you highlight and press start on scorpion. then when it shows who you want to play against hold up and hold start on subzero.. you will may keep getting alts but some alts you didnt unlock yet! keep doing it and i got to play as cage.. who knows its a first step to something.
Please refrain from typing thread subjects in all caps.

you gotta hold up and start on the second character choice for 5 seconds then it goes through itll start giving you alts to play as that you didnt even unlock yet.

I just found this a while ago. I havent got to play as cage yet, but I did play with some stuff that's still locked on my profile, so I can verify at least half of what he's saying.see my post "select screen glitche/hidden feature"

It's funny. One time somebody is actually going to find something amazing, and that somebody won't have a digital camera. People will put him off and the find will be delayed even longer.
I'm not saying that this is the case here, but I'm sure it will happen.
Edit- Also, it seems like other people have had similar things happen, as per the following thread-

Thankfully it's not a hard thing to test out. So if it's true we'll know pretty quick. Cracks me up though how quick people are to jump to conclusions. The guy just posted this and already people are yelling out "close the topic! it's OMG A LIES!!!one11!!!"

Under the info for the second character is Scorpians name. When you do this trick, the name will turn into who it picked for you after 5 seconds or so.
I was starting to make it that when I pressed start it turned into the person it would choose for me then after 5 seconds finally chose him. When this happened, I could continuesly press start (while holding up) and I was scrolling through different names. 4 seconds already went by when I noticed this and didn't have time to look for someone to be. After that I wasn't able to do it again. :(

You can see costumes you haven't unlocked this way, but I haven't tried it with characters yet, I have them all and the only way to try is to erase me profile.Will someone give it a shot?

I can' seem to figure out who to scroll through names. It sorta picks different people on its own with me. Freaky.

If you let go of start the name won't change but the character will still be picked.

ok the way I do it is:
1.Pick practice
2.Pick scorpion, I've always picked his alt. I don't know if it matters
3.highitght any chacter on the top row(i.e. sub, jade, kenshi)
4.pick them by holding up them holding start
After about 5 seconds you'll hear the name of the character you just picked and scorpion's name will change, or if you let go of start a little early his name won't change, but the chacter will.

I have also confirmed this. I can also add that you don't need to hit up and start, you get the same results if you hold up and hit X. This will give you a random character in player 1 in their ALT uniform when the match starts. Have yet to confirm Cage in doing this.
