I THINK hotaru is drahmin and quan-chi combined together.

I think so becuase dragula21 who has a psm magazine said he seen the picture and he looks sort of like quanchi and a king and don't forget drahmin was a king at one time. so if that thing that happend to quanchi and drahmin in drahmins ending in mk:da I think hotaru would be theoutcome to that. REMEMBER: this is what I think so don't flame me for it.
what do you guys think.

Not a bad point u make there, but surely this "Hotaru" wud infact be called either Drahmin or Quan Chi? I mean rather than havin a completely new name? Unless of course Drahmin/Chi dissapeared and because of the merger, has sum identity crisis and hey whilst Im onto it, maybe this "merged character" known as "Hotaru" has somehow bein found out, and manipulated by another character?
U raise a good point, it will be interestin to see how it plays out and whether infact Drahmin and Quan Chi did infact merge as one. I personally think Hotaru is a silly name, reminds me of a Shotakan name "Goro, Kintaro...okay maybe not" Just hope the character makes up for the silly name, well thas my opinion anyway?

I think Hotaru is a totally new character.

Everytime a new character is introduced to a new game, some fans think the character is really someone else.

Well in Drahmin's ending in MK:DA. I forget what happened, But he regained his human form. I think that by your guy's descriptions that Hotaru is possibly the "True" Drahmin.

Or maybe he's just a new character.

why would they merge

the inner sanctume restore energy

drahmin became human and quan chi became more powerul

and i saw this hotaru and hell doesn't look much like drahmin or quan chi

this merger theory is as dumb as liu kano

That's a nice theory, but I think if Hotaru was the product of Drahmin and Quan Chi merging together, then as ReptilianHelms mentioned, he would've been called either quan Chi or Drahmin (most likely Drahmin). Nice theory though!

As for whoever said that Quan Chi already hass a piece on the MK Chess board, if you look at all those chess pieces, there are all characters from MKDA, with their MKDA looks. That may not mean anything.

Hotaru could be a merged character, but I think he will be a different one. Probably an Earth fighter. Maybe Drahmin's true form as hinted in Deadly Alliance. I would like to think of him as a new character working for the Dragon King with his own agenda. But Hotaru sounds like a Centaur's name to me. Maybe Blaze once his curse is lifted?

Hmm, interesting. Maybe they could be a Lin Kuei ninja? But maybe it could just be a new character that wanders around at night. Like his could be referred to as the "Light in the Night".

When i first saw Hotaru, i to thought it was a fusion between quan chi and drahmin. As far as i remember, drahmin became human again, and kitana defeated quan chi. Meh, i guess we'll have to find out in the beginning of deception.

Hotaru does NOT look like Quan Chi. Nor does he look like Drahmin. And to the guy who said that the character chess pieces mean nothing:
Once two pieces meet they start fighting and the game reverts to the same fighting mechanics used in versus mode. The character models are not yet finished which explains why they look like they did in MKDA. This is, IMO, proof enough of their existence.
