how can they put smoke and noob together. it just seems so STUPID to do it and smoke was my fav guy of all. when i found out they were together i thought WTF. i dont have the game yet so maybe they are OK but really i dont need to have the game to say that tag team guys are fucking stupid as fuck. i was looking forward to smoke getting his own stances and 2 fatalities., abd a weapon. its all noobs fault for being invented and in the first place i dodnt even like noob and still dont. i thought noob was a really small shitty guy and was made just so they could have more characters and not to be used in future games like MKD but they didsadfuriousthis is what i feel and think

You may think its a bad idea but honestly, the tag team concept is great. Noob and Smoke are pretty damn hard when you fight them as the sub boss, but in the hands of a good player theyr're even worse. Bad part is, in the hands of a cheap player, Noob Smoke could be the single most annoying character(s) in the game. I like the concept of the tag team character, and they explain in the story why they're teamed. Plus, when you switch between them, they're both unique enough to hold their own.

I hated it at first. Like you I wanted them to have their own styles and own fatalities, Noob more so than Smoke, but I've gotten over it. It's not as bad as it sounded. And considering Noob's true identity it makes sense in a way.
I suggest holding off judgement until you play the game.

I think the tag team concept is workable, but I'm not sure if I'd say Noob and Smoke were the best characters to use for this idea. Also, I don't think the idea was implemented as well as it could have been, because in its current form it kind of takes away from both characters by giving each only one style. Maybe if each had the standard three styles, but could still switch between each other as a specific special move, it would have been better.
But I must say, I was impressed with what they did with Noob-Smoke's storyline, especially with the ending. This was one of my main concerns, because before their MKD ending, the only common thread between the two was the fact that they were both enigmatic, usually hidden characters.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
By revealing that Noob is in fact the older Sub-Zero, given Smoke's established connection with the Lin Kuei, they did a good job of revealing that the two did, in fact, have a plot connection, though we weren't aware of it.

It can't be the worst idea possible.
Making an MK game with just 1 fighter and nobody else to fight is a lost worse.

Noob and Smoke put together is a really good tag team idea to start with. I think MK7 can greatly improve on it though. It was basically the Endurance match of Deception, but I think its the first step to a multiplayer tagteam involving up to 4 players. Team 1 takes Liu Kang and Kung Lao, Team 2 takes Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. Then there are 9 different pairs of fighting styles that you can choose from.(You and your teammate choose one pair that fits both persons favorite fighting style of that character. Lui can have his first fighting style, and Kung could have his weapon style for an example.) The fighting starts out with Lui Kangand Quan Chi on the field, they both trade hits, then Lui Kang hits the style change button and Kung Lao comes out with full health. He then starts a combo on Quan Chi, then style changes back to Lui Kang but finishes the combo before Player 1 takes control. Quan Chi is low on health, so he does a special combo attack where he and Shang Tsung send out their fireball and skull blast. This attack cannot be blocked and it extremely powerful, but it can only be done once per match. Lui Kang is low on health now so he bycicle kicks Quan Chi to almost finish him off. Quan switches off with Shang tries to pull off a combo but gets a breaker half way through. Lui swiches to Kung Lao who Teleports behind Shang and starts beating him up, not thinking, Shang switches back to Quan who is immediately finished off, and is back to Shang again who starts a fury of special attacks. Kung Lao gets hit pretty badly but switches to Lui via special come from behind flying kick.(The way Noob and Smoke switch with the forward forward A or the down back A) Both Shang and Quan Chi are defeated but the Shang gets up for the finish him. Kung Lao comes out and takes off his hat, Lui Kang sets it on fire, and Kung Lao throws it into Shangs chest setting him on fire, with a hat stuck in all his vital organs. FATALITY. LUI KANG~KUNG LAO WINS.

I love these two together, I think the concept and the choices was the best possible idea.

Hmm, Each character having three styles and switching between one-another through Dark Shadows and Death from Above would have been perfect! I can only hope for MK7.

nope... a great idea... sets the stage for four player matches.. imagine a huge 3d arena where up to four human players could play at once. with projectiles, moves and arena specifics flying around. some arenas could have aspects that hurt players. i am not talking about stagnant statues, but perhaps blades swinging periodically from the ceilings and such.. makes the game chaotic and fun to play. anyway, noob smoke is by far the best addition to the game.. if you could count them as a new character, that is.. combos that are hugely difficult to block and which are a real pain after u run out of breakers... unorthodox offence... never knowing what they gonna do next.. ouch..

I wish they would have made a two-character Fatality like the one in the Krypt.

I say this with all due respect to Vogel, Boon, and the MK team who made Smoke's return possible in the first place(I even thanked Vogel personally after Fight Night for reviving Smoke for MKD). But with that said...
Noob-Smoke was a fucking joke.
He wasn't a tag team. He was merely one character who happened to swap models during combos and moves while lacking a weapon. His teleport punch swicher was the same move Kobra sported. The teleport air kick is a carbon copy of mileena's teleport kick. NS's double-punch is merely another charge attack much like Nightwolf's and Subzero's. All these forementioned characters had the same attacks yet they weren't tagteams. They didn't need to be.
So what was the awesome advantage of merging Noob and Smoke? You get a flashy character who is a tad confusing to fight against. Face it guys: he was a shortcut with no actual advantage. Smoke fans waited eight years to finally see Smoke again, and we get an half-assed incomplete version of him that is fused with Noob(a mediocre character who should never have even been in the same country as Smoke!).
The only security I have is knowing that both characters are likely to return in MK7 and that they MIGHT be seperate.

You may never know. Noob and Smoke maybe accessible as separate characters. Remember Boon has stated that not everyone has found all the secrets of the game.

Some people like them. So that more than rules them out as "worst idea possible."
Some other bad idea possibilites...
1)Ermac's twin Gmac. Instead of made of souls he is made of oat-meal and loves the Bling-Bling.
2)Stanley: The the tax collector who's fatalies involve scareing people to death with forboading audits and paperclip assaults.
3)Margrett: Bo Ria Cho's wife.
4)Wilbur: Bo' Ria Cho's "Life Partner"
5)Toraxian: The mutant termite.
6) Kobra: The love child of Johnny Cage and Ken Masters with a disturbing fixation with G.I. Joe.

Dispite the fact that Noob~Smoke is basically a half made character, with attacks that are taken from other characters put into him such as Kobras Teleport Move and Fatalities from past games like Reiko's Shuriken Throw, I still think their fun to play when you feel cheap.
I don't feel like actually fighting you so I will repeatedly use Down Back A, Forward Forward A, and Down Back Y until you die.
Monkey Style deserved a better character though.
