I have an xbox and a ps2 and both systems have their pro's and con's
ps2 definitely has a wider variety of games and a larger game library as it has been out longer than the x-box. They both have great game developers. The ps2 controller blows the xbox controller away. I hate the xbox controller. Had problems with it a week after I bought the system. The x-box usually has tighter graphics, not a huge difference, but the difference is there none the less. Although ps2 online is free, it cannot compare to xbox live. Xbox live is so much better than ps2 online. No cheaters, better server quality, and 50 dollars a year gets you unlimited online time for any game. Trust me the 50 dollars is worth it.
Another big difference is that if you are into system modifications, then x-box would be the better choice. There'a a lot more you can do to an x-box than you can do to a ps2. You can do some things with the ps2 like add a second hard drive, but the mods work better on the x-box.
You could even add Linux to your x-box, which is pretty cool if you are a linux nut
It's a tough decision as the two are almost equals. It's depends more on your preference
It really depends on your reason for possibly wanting to switch systems, And what you like more about one system over the other.
If I had to make the decision I would say keep the ps2 and save up to buy an x-box
if you can't get money than ask for the x-box for x-mas, hannakah, kwanzaa, your birthday, or any day that is special and you celebrate by getting gifts :)

well the reason i wanted to swap was because the games i like that are out for the ps2 are mostly out for the xbox abd the new games like MKD, halo 2 ect.
i just thought that was a quite good reason. and as u said better internet.

Halo 2. Does there need to be any other reason? HALO 2!!!!!!
Erm, anyways, I like my XBox better, cause like stated before, most of the games out for both systems are usually slightly better on XBox than PS2. XBox Live is also worth the $50, as it is a much better service, with more options and better player matching.
However, my best recommendation would be to KEEP the PS2 and get the XBox as well. I personally own both, and like being able to enjoy all the best exclusive games on each system. So I will be able to enjoy Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as well as Halo 2. HALO 2!!!!!! *cough* Sorry bout that. *g*

actually statistically speaking, people are more satisfied with the ps2, i work in retail so i have access to stats like these. in the past year, of all the people who bought a ps2, only 18% went out and bought an xbox afterwards. 52% of the people who bought xbox went out and got a ps2 after they purchased the xbox. what does that tell you? people are more satisfied with the ps2 than the xbox. cant argue with the numbers.

I can
You are being to generous. These stats are only based on which people you interviewed. How many people is this based off of? Anyways, it doesn't matter. It is a preference thing. Though Xbox titles are becoming more and more refined, and expanding.
Or it could mean XBox owners are more likely to want a total gaming experience and own both systems... I dunno, those numbers can be interpreted in a number of different ways, and besides, like stated before, that's likely only those who were actually interviewed (how were these numbers determined, exactly?) It looks rather unscientific and meaningless to me, certainly not a true indicator of how satisfied each consumer is with a particular system.
Besides, when Halo 2, comes out, just watch those XBox's fly off the shelves.

I've never owned a ps2 but I played it alot at my friend's house. The only think that bothers me with ps2 is the f*cking loading times. I've also heard from many people that ps2 online is nothing when compared to xbox live. I have a modded xbox, i have all the classic emus such as snes, capcom, n64, nes, gba, and the most of all xbox has the xbox media player with which you can play mp3s, pics, variety of video formats and stream videos from your pc. When I play xbox live games, I just turn off my modchip and it is the good old xbox again. Overall, I prefer xbox, but I am also tempted to buy the new slim ps2 only if it didnt cost $150. You can get a good xbox bundle with 2 games and 2 months free xbox live with that much money.
