It most likely woudn't matter, because you have to remember that Johnny cage and Liu both died, and yet they come back. So it really doesn't matter if they die. But if I had to choose one of the original 7...just for plot twist I would have to say Raiden.

Sonya, she hasnt had a good story since MK1 and quite frankly she is boring with the same storyline over and over again.

This is a hard choice for me, but i'd choose either:

1) Sonya Blade
Kill her to advance the Dragon King's status. I can see The DK breaking her in two or something real brutal.

2) Raiden
Have his endless immortality sacfricing days catch up to him. The three best ways I can see Raiden dying are as follows:

Have him fight aganst the bad guys, then have Damashi (or Fujin if Raiden rescues him) reveal that the Elder Gods want the Dragon King to succeed (sort of like the Abacus/Zaggot theory, or they're just plain evil and deceptive), and have them fire a blast at Raiden which slowly rips his body apart as Raiden dissolves into absolute nothingness. No afterlife for Raidy Boy, it's just like he never existed.

I could also see him sacfricing himself to fight the Dragon King after Shujinko, Sub-Zero and/or Liu Kang try to kill him. This could be after the Dragon King is immortal, so even though Raiden knows he will die, he fights to protect Earthrealm. This could install Fujin, Damashi or a new character in Raiden's place full-time.

Or they could simply have Raiden's years of being a immortal sacrificing rebel blow up in his face and have Baraka slaughter the now mortal Raiden, just to make the Tarkatan Warrior look more powerful.

3) Scorpion
I can't see him dying, but it would be great if Shang Tsung took his soul, or Shao Kahn consumed him or something. Maybe Ashrah or Sub-Zero kills Quan Chi, so Scorpion is left without a purpose and he goes back to the Netherealm?

Everyone knows I'm a huge Liu Kang fan. And that's why I would choose Liu Kang. I want him to die in a fair fight, and take his place in the Heavens. I believe MKD will be the last time we see Liu Kang.

Sonya's the original chick; MUST STAY - her moves kick ass in all the games (well maybe not MKDA) but her storyline would go better if it wasn't for Kano to begin with I mean damn they keep bringing him back. Without Kano around I think her story will turn out a lot better; also if they got rid of Jax that might help.

of the original 7 liu kang by far. but apparently people with snapped necks dont stay dead. liu and cage both die but they come back. yay. great plot continuity. but of all mk characters it would be jax. the ghetto lord sucks some serious ass. guess i was not aware the hood was in the military.

Well, I like all of the original seven, as most of us do, but if I had to pick someone, I'd say Sonya. She's always been boring to me for some reason. Maybe it's just that the whole special forces thing always seemed lame to me. Bringing in Jax made it worse, and then putting Cyrax and Kenshi with them brought both of those characters down in my opinion.

Sonya never really developed a personality in the game. It was always just "get Kano get Kano get Kano" for the longest time. Her endings always bit for that reason.

That said, it's not like Cage or Scorpion have done anything new lately. But it looks like Scorpion is going to get a new direction, which should be good for that character. Plus, I've always enjoyed playing as Scorpion much more than Sonya.

I'm one of the few people that liked Liu Kang and is glad he's back. I'm hoping that he'll be altered enough to make him new and fresh story-wise. Sub Zero is gettin a bit old (figuratively and literally). Sadly, I don't think they're doing much with his story this time around despite how many allies and enemies he's made over the last few games.

Since Johnny and Liu already died(them dying again and again would be lame, but hey its been done before) and I like Kano and Sonya. Sub-Zero from the 1st seven is dead(or so we think). Scorpion..never dies. So my choice is Raiden. I would like to see how the protectors from earth handle things without their precious god to help them.
