I believe that Hotaru may be Drahmin's new form... His human form.

His change in form, would not change his name. Hotaru is not Drahmin, sorry.

I'd imagine that maybe he would come back as a human form this time...and maybe a worthwhile character instead of being the useless button masher that he was in MKDA.

He might merge with Quan since he pushed him in too.

Indeed Hotaru is not Drahmin and if you read Drahmin's ending you will notice that Drahmin and Moloch were one.


Drahmin's Ending
Sent by the sorcerer Shang Tsung, the two Oni known as Drahmin and Moloch confronted Quan Chi, enraged that he had tried to leave them stranded in the bowels of the Netherealm. In the battle that ensued, Drahmin leapt at Quan Chi and both kombatants stumbled into the Inner Sanctum Chamber.

Drahmin is his netherrealm name. When you die and go to the Netherrealm you get a new name. Scorpion wasn't known as Scorpion when he was human IIRC.

and quan chi hasn't merged with drahmin..nothing about that makes sense

I would hope he would get a new appearance and maybe a new name. I think he should bring his own style of evil force to the game.

If Drahmin comes back, I don't think he should be human. Being that corpse looking thing made him stand out. I liked his mummy looking 2nd outfit better than the "Meat in a mask" look, it's be cool to have him more like that.

I think that Drahmin come back in his Oni form (remember, the endings are "If what...")
