It every interesting when you look around other fighting game website and go to the forums and they talk about the other fighting game. For example today I went to the Soul Calibur 2 forums ( not a member) to check out what other gamers talk about. I went to the off topic post and someone has posted a Mortal Kombat Deception post. It was interesting if you read some of their post about Mortal Kombat, some know alot about Mortal Kombat and some say the whole series suck. One guy even say how can Liu Kang and Kung Lao be the same age while Kung Lao is his great ancestor.
Well you say they know alot about MK, but they sure as hell dont. First of all there is two fucking Kung laos, just like there is freaking about maybe 5 subzeros.
the REAL kung Lao the ancestor of Lui Kang died by Goro in i think MK1, or was it before MK1?? i forgot but read your comics in the Krypt in MKDA and youll see. And just cause it was around the MK1 time era doesnt mean they were the same age, Kung Lao was a bald headed HUGE man, and the new kung Lao looks nothing like him. Its not like the subzeros who look exactly the same.

i found this:
GI= Game informer magazine
TI= Tomonobu Itagaki
GI: What do you think of other fighting games like Mortal Kombat: Deception?
TI: I haven't seen it or played it, so I'm just making a general statement, but the action games made [in america] have very low motion quality. American developers should pay a little more attention to the way characters walk.
GI: Some found Ninja Gaiden too hard. Any comments to those gamers?
TI: That's the spirit of Team Ninja: We do whatever we want to do- take it or leave it.
probably TI is the creator to the game, i dunno.
but ,the way they walk??.... looks like he runned out of ideas

That's pretty funny, because aparantally, you don't know much yourself.
There are only two Sub-Zero characters in the gaming world of Mortal Kombat. Not five. And one of them is long dead.
I think Liu Kang was only referred to as Kung Lao's descendent in the movie, although I'm not sure. If Liu Kang IS Lao's descendent, I guess he is the current Kung Lao's cousin.
And how do you know the Sub-Zeroes look exactly the same? You've never seen the first Sub-Zero unmasked. He could be Blonde, or bald for all you know.

Maybe nobody knows cuz I know I don't. But that Ninja Gaiden dude seems kind of anasshole. Maybe a bit stuck up maybe it's just me. I do agree with his general statement that we need to do better with characters walking or moving.

Actually, hes referring to the generation of Sub-Zero's. If you do a little research you will find that the Lin Kuei for centuries, in the northeastern parts of China, were a clan of assasins and theives operating in secrecy. It's warriors were humans who possessed special skills and abilities, chosen at birth to be raised apart from workings of day-to-day civilization. These warriors were stripped of their former lives, and only the clan knew of their existence. Their abilities were passed on from generation to generation and honed through life expierences.
In the case of Sub-Zero:
A fourth generation warrior by the name of SZ made himself a life in America as a cover for his true identity and purpose as an assasin. He had a wife, two sons, and a daughter. His wife wanted a normal life and upbringing for her sons, so she tried in vain to hide her sons from their father. Eventually, the two sons were found and their father returned with them to China. Their mother and sister were never heard from again and the older of the two sons inherited the name of sub-zero (to us he is known as the Classic SZ from MK1 and Mythologies). He is the 5th generation SZ making the current medallion wearing SZ the 6th generation.
So in fact, there were 6 warriors with similar ice powers, throughout time in this particular family lineage, that went by the name of SZ. You can find the meat of all this through info on MK:Mythologies (the website for the game had all this info or similar info, but the website for MK:M is gone now though im told... you can always try and look in the MK:M strategy guide) and other sources around. Some sources may go into more detail than others. Whether this is all fact or not, this is what he is referring to.
So yes there were 2 playable SZ throughout the MK games, but 6 altogether throughout the entire storyline of the MK Universe.
As far as Liu being related to the Original Kung Lao, 9 generations before MK1, thats only in the movies my friends. Liu and the current Lao are only close friends and Shaolin monk brothers nothing more. The current Kung Lao is the last descendant of the Orignal Lao who defeated Tsung all those years ago.
