About Me

I don't want a bigger movelist Boon. I want a reason to use more than
10% of the ones you've given me. Fix MK with Move Properties.

"Regardless of which mode you partake in, however, Deception offers an insane amount of extras. Called 'Kontent' in the game menu, there are such a huge number of goodies here that it almost sounds made up. With nearly 700 secrets in all, it's easily the biggest MK ever in terms of single-player unlockables. Character profiles, additional outfits, production art, team photos, and other special bonuses like movies, endings, and a full-length soundtrack have also been included. Throw in the fact that there's a demo of Midway's upcoming shooter Area 51 on there for good measure, and you have quite a bit to do between matches."
Wow. That's awesome.
700 secrets in the game, yall.

in short.....
9.0 Presentation
We don't know how they do it, but Midway has somehow mixed blood and guts with a humorous touch for that unique unexplainable beast that is Mortal Kombat.
8.0 Graphics
The characters still have a plastic look to them and the animations are somewhat stiff. But the stages and environments are top notch, while the particle effects and fatalities look cool.
7.5 Sound
Deception's soundtrack is pretty solid, but the audio lacks a real punch when it comes to the sound effects and voice-overs. But we're not sure if that counts, as the vocals are intentionally bad.
8.0 Gameplay
A more refined gameplay system than Deadly Alliance makes for a much more balanced and playable game. The CPU AI is inconsistent though, and the combos are still simplistic and canned.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
It's going to be hard to run out of things to do here. Kombat Chess, Puzzle Kombat, a 30-hour Konquest mode, 24 playable characters, almost 50 fatalities, 700 unlockables, and online play is awesome.

Had an OVERALL score of 8.8 out of 10.
Rounds off to an awesome 9.
