i agree with you. And that big picture you got that has Empiror and The other guy witch i know his name but didn't want to spell it cause i cant spell.

This is how it could have been:

Upon taking over Edenia, Kahn only then may have cast this 'spell' on Kitana. Realising that now only erthrealm was left to take over, and realising that Kitana was a compassionate person at heart, he asks his lead sorceror, Shang Tsung, to cast this spell on her.

However, to make sure things remained, he needed someone to also keep an eye on Kitana all the time. Shang Tsung could not do this as he had his orders, and he had a tournament to organise (among other things). So, Shang Tsung is ordered to create Mileena, something of a sibling for Kitana to ensure that she is watched all the time. Acting as a big sister, Mileena could influence Kitana's every move.

Of course, deep down Kitana feels that with all the killing she and Mileena do, Kitana knows that something is just not right.
