if you all watched the video more closely you will see the portal from mk2 is merged with the arcade towers background from mk3. so, he was correct about the stage being from mk3...its just also from mk2, too. but yeah that was a bad interview.

Who thought that? I certainly never thought that. That would've been retarded.

Steve Berran's been with the MK team since MKII or 3, the guy was probably nervous when he forgot where Rain was from... lol it's all good.

But as for the Asian guy saying about the portal is from MK3, COME ON MAN!!! EVERYONE KNOWS IT'S FROM MK2 DUMBASS!

Like has been pointed out, an MK2/MK3 background were merged into one. So to say this background is from MK3 is not wrong.

Also, I'm sure Steve knew exactly where Rain was from. At E3, he and I talked a lot about Wavenet UMK3 (a very rare arcade version of UMK3 that had Noob Saibot as a playable character). Although, the MK arcade team didn't work on the consoles version, so even if he didn't, it would have been forgivable.

During the chess match Steve Beran said that they were fighting in an MK3 background but it looked to me like the portal from MKII. Shame on you, Steve.

Steve has only been around since MK3, give him a break, lol. I will agree that the interview was pretty poor. As far as the secrets...i hope its not full of junk like the last one. I dont really care about character sketches or pictures. Those things are not fun to find.

Hi, I’m Maiko, one of the few curators of Gametactics.com. You may remember me from my webcomic that no-one reads and the various reviews on the site that no-one cares about. I feel that I have to defend Miketwo. And I shall. A bit.

Miketwo (Justin Lee) is the webmaster of both Gametactics.com and E3coverage.com, and has visited E3 a few times. He takes his girlfriend along to either talk on camera (in which case they know absolutely nothing about the games industry, and therefore ends up with a vaguely bad interview) or do the filming whilst he talks (which makes an interview using a more informed host).
Once the videos started getting uploaded, I started talking to Justin about his interview technique, and noted his extremely geeky method of speaking (It may be the accent compared to my Queen’s English, it may not) along with his various methods of questioning (The Razer Mouse interview has been immortalised forever in an animated Gif, purely because of a hand movement we know to be “The Claw”, which I believe actually scared the guy a bit).
The Videos on the site are designed more for everyday normal people who don’t know much about the game being dealt with. That is to say, they’re mainly for “casual gamers”. In a similar way of a Harry Potter fan criticizing the films because they aren’t that good compared to the book, I see a similar trend here with the interview. It could be thought that the interview revealed new information to people whom haven’t even HEARD of the game in the first place, instead of preaching to the converted. Just because many of you know everything to do with the Mortal Kombat universe and didn’t learn anything new, it doesn’t mean that any information revealed couldn't be useful for those who don’t know.
Justin is also not an encyclopaedia of gaming knowledge. With all the information to soak in at the show, it’s probably safe to let him off for not knowing as much as a die-hard fan.

Miketwo will continue to get a berating from me for the entire lifetime of those videos, and maybe next year he could do it far better than this attempt (Which was actually his first time in front of the camera).
If you’re unlucky, I may end up going to E3 with him (and being a Brit compared to his Canadian accent, that should be fun!) and doing all the talking to camera, thanks to my past experience of low-budget gaming videos and my overtly large bulk making me immune to the alluring powers of the booth babes. And my technique will be more for asking questions which suit what I want to know, rather than what the die-hard fan will want to know.

Here endeth the ranting...

Hey Maiko,

As a fellow "Justin", I actually think that this guy, Justin Lee, did a good job. I don't know what's with the complaining about the job that he did, or on the job Steve Beran did. Everything was great.

Most of the complaints about either one them are wrong and/or unjustified. (People saying that background's not from MK3, etc.)

I'll chalk it up to people being upset about the lack of new information that's been going on almost all week. Keep up the good work, GameTactics guys!

Why isn't MK Deception coming to the gamecube? I don't think I want to buy $150 console for one game. Please don't respond this with "Then Don't."

As for Stage 'Fatalities', i'm still rather miffed at the fact that the Death Traps aren't fatal, and that they're just glorified ring outs. Hence, Death Traps are gonna get old...real fast. So much for stage fatalities being back in MK6. Bah.

Satyagraha - Yep, I am a lard ass, a huge person. Mostly physically unattractive. Hence boothbabes run away when I am near. I know it to be fact, as it happened at ECTS 2000...
