Sometimes there are names that needs to be changed and not like the other one said "because they are french", it is because like someone mentioned, Deception is also a french word but that means "disapointement", like you are going to sale a Disapointing Mortal Kombat. Not good for the sales.
Personnally, I prefer Mystification aswell.
Another example, the Mitsubishi Pajero was changed to "Montero" in the Dominican Republic because "pajero" is a local e.x.pression that means Jacking off. Not good for sales neither.

In Spain ocurred the same thing, but in Spain the game also called Mortal Kombat: Deception..... is a good or bad thing?

lol thats funny, its like this car that my spainsh teacher told me about, i dont remember what it was but it ment no go and it sold for crap in spainsh countries. So smart move for the Mk team though.
