Man, a month with nothing then we get bombarded with news and footage.
It's almost too much!
I'm making more image pages for those of you who are on dialup and have a hard time with long download times.

Hye can sum1 upload the videos onto their web site so i can download em because im having trouble with that whole secure download thing on gamespot and the streaming videos quality is horrible. Thx!

The streaming quality is crap and the secure download speed is like dial up to me and i'm on DSL.
Boon mentioned that they tweeked the fighting styles so that they are more distinct for each character. Sounds cool. That was one of the things in MK:DA that kinda bugged me, should be cool to see what they've done.
He also said that there would be less emphasis on elaborate combos because you'll be able to break out of them, though he's didn't mention how. That really interests me beacause it could add a new level of stratagy/skill. I hope it's in the E3 build cause i'd like to hear exactly how it works.

Just give us one image of Kabal, and I would gladly wait until the game ships for everything else to come out! If all they do is release one image of kabal before the game ships and nothing else I will be so happy. It's kind of ruinging it for everyone know, with everything about the game being released.

I really hate the new ninja costumes. Sub-Zero looks like Shredder from TMNT. I really hope the retro costume is still available in the game when it comes out.

do you think tmnt is the origin of that look? maybe you should do some historical research and then you will understand that shredder's look is not unique.

Thanks but whoa!
Information Overload. It's gonna be crazy when E3 starts.

Amazing! Everything looks so incredibly well done and designed!
I love the characters 2D faces in Chess mode, the way puzzle works with giant deadly objects and big heads.
I already think deception is bigger then MKDA in every possible way. I hope no deception comes when I play the game though.

I know that it is a historically accurate costume. But it is my opinion that because it is just a game and it is meant for entertainment, then it should have some kind of familiarity. For some, its the fatalities, moves, story, or the name of the game and its characters. I on the other hand like the familiarity of the costumes. The costumes are my eye-candy, everything else comes secondary. Now with the mention of the TMNT comparison, I said it because that is a game much like this one and therefore I can compare it. Shredder in TMNT has the costume because its historically significant to the character as well, but "in the game world," the costume became a signiture look for Shredder. To have Sub-Zero have the same look (in my opinion) is not very appealing. To me Sub-Zero (and the other ninjas, like ermac) has gone through a redesign that took away from their traditional look that I've come to love.

So basicly, you want every ninja to look exactly the same again.

For the most part, the majority of people who play this game aren't actually going to know the costume is historically correct. That's the problem here, they're only going to see Shredder, it was certainly my first thought when I saw it. Tradionally correct or not, I think they should have gone for a different look. Personally I don't see any reason for him to have changed from his MK:DA masked costume so drastically whatsoever.

Like Snowcat said, it was a drastic change. The original costumes were identifiable with MK ninjas. If you saw the same type of costume in another game, you would say, "hey, it looks like scorpion" (even if you don't admit it). To you it may seem childish to be stuck on something that seems insignificant to you, but the one thing that seperated each mortal kombat were three basic things: Stages, Fatalities, New Characters, and New Costumes for old favorites. These costumes may be new, but it didn't evolve from the previous game, they just changed it so much that it looks like an imported character from another game rather than the return of an old one.
