posted03/28/2004 06:30 PM (UTC)byi can't stand it when people keep flipping out sayin...LI MEI IS DEAD SHE ISNT COMING BACK! hello people! this is mortal kombat. no one dies in this game. they always die in the endings and then come back anyway. i dont know why this game isnt just called immortal kombat. look at cage..he died, and for some reason they brought him back. quan chi had his head decapitated by scorpion in mk4...he returned. i think you guys should stop arguing about li meis return and just find out for yourself when midway, a magazine, or the game itself confirmes it.

Actually, Cage is the only one to come back from the dead.
Not all of the endings from the games apply to the next game. Rayden's ending are basically neutral and considered to be the basis of what happened in the tournament. So really, not accepting every ending as absolute is clearly the best way to not being confused when a character shows up when he/she dies in a character's ending from the previous game.

One more thing. Rayden's endings also speak to his role in Mortal Kombat. Even though he's entered into tournaments and aides the Earth Realm Warriors, he doesn't affect the outcome of them in any way. It would seem that he's more or less a narrator in his endings where he doens't place himself within the central outcomes of each tournament.
I kinda wonder if he should actually be in a tournament he he's not going to have a direct outcome on the tournament. Hmmmmmmmmmm....
Oh well. Another subject for another thread I guess.
