Liu s a zombie and a ghost... almost none of the endings happened... so don't consider the Kang in Kano 100% true... they may use part of it (like Scorpion... his ending happened, only he doesn't die, he is saved by the elder gods...)

Liu Kang WAS confirmed in the game, so he'll be there...

True. Yet, Maybe Liu isn't "really" Liu. Although he's got the same body, maybe Boon is setting up something? I wouldn't be surprised if Liu's story is more than meets the eye or a deception.

EVERYONE knows liu had a sex change after MK4... He called herself Yoliffah and worked the streets...While in DA it is obvious that the one killed was a man...

But really talking... I think liu's reapparition is 1 of 2 tings:
1) It's like Cage and Human Smoke in MKT... bend the story rules a little to have a good character...
OR
2)Some mysterious force brought him back either as a puppet or evil to get the DK or Shao Khan or the DA out of the way...

quan chi's ending was just meant to forshadow and say that "liu kang will be back". it was just supposed to excite us. or maybe even it happened, but then liu kang, as kano, found liu kang's body and switched... lol i don't know...

As far as Liu's motive's for fighting, It would boggle me if he fought for no reason. Unless, he was hell-bent on destruction. Shang and Quan aka his murderers are supposedly dead. My Theory is that Liu isn't trying to prove a point or get revenge. Maybe Kung Lao already did both. I'm guessing he's fighting because SOMEBODY had to have brought him back to life and he's being manipulated. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't want to see Liu in Kano, this is the most ridiculous idea Midway had...

Is Kano Liu Kang? No. For many reasons.

One, he's Kano. Liu Kang's spirit may have inhabited Kano's body in Quan Chi's ending, but that doesn't turn Kano into Liu Kang.

Two, no ending can be considered canon until the next game comes and and confirms it as such. Especially the endings of a boss character. Boss characters usually have "and the world was plunged into eternal darkness forever. have a nice day" type endings which are cool but obviously don't happen. Quan Chi's was a nice twist, but it's a what-if, not a what-happened.

I think Liu jumped into Kano's body and sat on the egg with DK in it until it hatched.

Seriously though, where is that pic of Liu because I haven't seen it yet.

No, you're correct. Neither of them are confirmed either dead or alive.

ok so then we still don't know who won, the good or the bad guys. i'm thinking shang and quan won but then the DK squashed them.

As far as I know, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are both still alive.

As for the Kano/Liu Kang thing, I remembered the MK team saying something about how Quan Chi's ending didn't happen though a friend of mine who has connections to Midway and the MK team tells me that Liu Kang's soul will be in Kano's body. I wonder what the official word really is on this whole situation...
