Is MK : DA A Button Masher friendly game ? ? ?

well Uruma, you simply just confirmed some of the points i made, namely each fighting game has a degree of BMF (Button-Mashing Friendliness), it's just that in MKDA that's really low, while in Tekken it's higher. in Tekken, to give an example, i've mostly played with Hwoarang and while some of his moves and combos do require you to actually learn them and practice a bit before playing, you can do a whole bunch of other combos by simple mashing on the buttons. and that's not just me talking, i've heard a lot of other people around saying Tekken is button mashing friendly.
Kloosedapimp, i must respectfully disagree with you, mainly because although you do make some valid points, i think you mistake cheapness for BMF. yeah, i can see how Raiden's 4, 4, 4 combo could be abused by some button masher. the other combo you are talking about though, namely 4, 4, Bk + 3, is not button mashing friendly because it requires particular timing and a newbie wouldn't be able to pull it off. yeah, you could probably call this combo, preceded by Raiden's special move in Staff stance, cheap, but it is in no way button mashing.
another point that you made was that you could make a lot of damage by powering up Nitara and doing here 1,1,1 combo i believe. well, like you said yourself, we've played against each other quite a bit and i've watched you play against other guys, and again like you said, you are definitely an above the average MKDA player. now, while that is a compliment to you, it makes your point about Nitara invalid since while you being a skilled player it might not be hard for you to execute that, for a newbie to do that would be entirely different story. and more to the point, the Power up move in MKDA is tricky to successfully execute and therefore a button mashing newbie trying to pull that off will have no chance against a skilled player. we know that while you are doing a Power up you leave your self unprotected for a small amount of time and for a skilled player that's all they need to cause some damage to the opponent. if i was playing against a newbie that, just for the sake of argument, was playing with Nitara and i was Raiden and if they tried to do a Power up on me, I would either do a Shoker on them or simply do the special move in Staff stance and either one of those will hit them.
a second problem with the Power up move is that it only last for so long. if a newbie did that to me and i missed the chance to whoop their a@$ for whatever reason, i'll just run from them for about 5-10 seconds or simply block and that will render their Powering up useless.
Now, you must admit that although you are a skilled player yourself, you weren't able to utilize Nitara's Power up against me, or against this friend of yours that's pretty good also, 100% of the time. true, you did it once in a while but not always. so, if you, a skilled player, couldn't consistently pull it off, then what chance does a newbie has?? not a big one. and more importantly, the fact that's the Power up move is so tricky to execute makes it virtually impossible to successffully utilize for a button masher.
and that brings to my next point, about the other special moves, like Reverse, Shove, Retreat, Impale (there might be more). If you think about it, none of them lends itself to button mashing. Reverse, for example, requires a very, very specific timing. no way in hell can a newbie abuse that. same for the rest of them. you could probably Impale someone and then theoretically run or block for the rest of the round, but that's being cheap not BMF.
well, that's all i got for now.

If someone is very good at MK: DA, and has mastered or is extremely skilled in a character of their choice, a button masher will stand NO chance against him/her. This was not the case in previous MK games though.
MK:DA is the least button masher friendly fighting game I've ever played. There are some very easy combos you can do, like someone said, one of Raiden's combos. But it's also very easy to defend once you get used to it, because it is fairly slow. On the other hand, Reptile has a lot of low kicks that are very powerful and very hard to distinguish if it's going to be a low kick. And with a character that can't counter attack, it can be frustrating. But generally, a "button masher" will stand no chance against someone who knows combos and knows the basics of the game.

Allright I am an above arveage player . Thanks Raiden . Well I do not consider myself to be above average anymore bacause I have not played MK:DA in what seems like ages . I really have no one to play with and if me and Raidenwins and a few others from my gamming group get together to game it is more likely to be CVS2 now that it is online . I would really get into MK:DA if it had some online play to it but alsa no it does not . Peace out for now all.
