I think that will be the deception.
We really dont have any proof that he is truly dead. We dont see him being slain, all we see is his helmet coming off. He may have been close to death and survived. Or Reiko was Shao Kahn's double, his bodyguard. Reiko was put there to look like Shao Kahn to protect him, as we saw in his ending in MK4 i believe. That and I am highly skeptical of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi being able to kill Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn is extremely powerful. Even in the begining FMV of MKDA, it portrays them supposedly springing a surprise attack. I didnt look like they caught him off guard. Looks like it took them 15 seconds just to get into striking range with them and by the he could have hit em with his eye projectile. These are some theories why i think he is still alive and may be the deception in MK6. If that was true i would love the game.

I think that it was Shao Kahn, but I don't think he died. I think that they think it killed him, but it didn't really kill him. Shao Kahn will be back. Can't just kill of him like that.

I hope he will be back. I just dont want him as powerful as his MKT version. It would be awesome if he had a hammer for his weapon stance.

He won't be as powerful. I think it would be cool if he killed someone in the opening video. Then he could be a selectable character maybe. By the way, prepare for Mister Satan posting soon about how he hates Kahn. grin

Hes my favorite character in the series and he isnt even playable (besides MKT). He wasnt the Emperor, and conquerer of all those realms, for nothing. Hes obviously supermely powerful, brutal, and unmatchable in skill to become what he is/was. We havent even really seen what hes capable of in my eyes, besides the fact that he nearly conquered Earth, something the Dragon King and Shinnok never did. He will be back... and he will return more powerful and more pissed off than ever before. Hes gonna be pretty ticked to find out his empire is over-run by a giant lizard (DK)... That would be the battle of the universe right there. I dont know if he will be in Deception (perhaps in one of the characters "what if" endings), but definitly in a future installment.

yeah, shao khan is just too powerful and popular to just get rid of, and it would go well with the whole deception thing. It would be even cooler if the Dragon King made an alliance with shao khan and they both made an alliance to both rule outworld and earthrealm, of course they would both never agree to that so there would be a fight and possibly another mk game to tell the tale.

Well if Kahn forms an alliance with the Dragon King, than expect Kahn to be the Sub boss.

I would prefer Shao Kahn not be allied with the Dragon King. I would like to see him hunt down Shang and Quan.

It wouldnt happen anyway. Why would Kahn ally himself with a being who has taken control of his empire and his place as supreme ruler? If anything he would destroy anything and anyone in his path to reclaim what is his. If anyone is gonna kill the DK, then it would be Kahn.

Yea well maybe when the Dragon King Takes over everything Shao Kahn plans to turn on him to have it all for himself. Like Shang and Quan did to each other in MKDA

Its not Kahns style to bow to anyone else. I always pictured him as the type to challenge right then and there never backing down, rather than decepting and sneaking around to get what he wants. Who knows, all I do know is that Kahn will return with a vengence.

I think it would be cool if he came back and allied with earth to destroy the Dragon King knowing he was to weak to do it himself because he lost all those souls but only temporary

A LOT of cool things can be done with Kahn. His storyline should definitely be revengeful. Shao Kahn can:

1- Hire/help Scorpion find/capture/kill Quan Chi, so there is one alliance. The deception is Shao Kahn himself kills Quan Chi cheating Scorpion of his revenge. DRAMA!

2- Kahn could resurrect Liu Kang and make an alliance with him to kill Shang Tsung or even the DK. That would be very interesting. The deception is naturally Shao Kahn killing Liu or Liu killing Kahn.

It would be interesting if Midway made Reiko Kahn's body double and body guard. The reason we see him on the throne of Kahn is because he is protecting it not stealing it. That way, we can explain Kahn's demise.

These are two my ideas/stories/possible theories, that I made up for Kahn and what I'd like to seem return as (I have posted this before):

1.) Kahn, being that hes dead (and I dont believe that Reiko decoy bullshit) theres only one place he would go... to the Netherealm. Kahn returns... Perhaps Noob Saibot, still faithful to the former Emperor and originating from the Netherealm himself, opened a portal or gateway. After conquering Netherealm, and building up an army of undead warriors and Oni to reclaim his thrown from the DK, Kahn desimates everyone in his path, and wages war against DK's army.

They should make Kahn more powerful than he was before with his newfound Netherealm based powers combined with his mastery of the Dark Arts, keep him huge yet agile, make him look more hellish and badass, cover his legs more with armor so he doesnt look so naked, and give him his helmet and make the horns longer (like the concept art in the Krypt) and make the skull more distorted and evil.

Most of all make him playable (at some price to get him of course, like beat him double flawless on Max, etc.), with powerful and surprisngly quick combos, new and classic powerful special attacks, his huge War hammer or a huge battle Axe, his old classic taunts mixed with some new ones, an unmasked alt. costume, and brutally gruesome original fatalities. Show everyone why Kahn was the Emperor to begin with, show his unmatched skill and power.

2.) If hes alive, then perhaps he has retreated to one of his hidden dimensions to heal after the attack, regain his full strength, and to hone his fighting skills and power to levels never achieved before... Piece by piece, slowly, gaining secret allies, and building up an army great enough to reclaim his empire and throne, eventually clashing with the DK and destroying him himself.

I like your theory of Kahn goin to the netherealm and noob saibot creating a portal for him to go through to earth/outworld.

You know what? I've actually been thinking about that ever since MKDA. Him being evil sure gave him some popularity among MK fans, but in the story line, just look where being evil got him; a stab in the back.

Ever since MKDA, I refused to believe he was still evil. His defeat in MK3/UMK3/MKT weakened him, and instead of planning to conquer another realm, he finds his own realm being invaded in a pre-emptive strike by Kitana and her cronies. Sure, he was once ruthless and would stop at nothing to conquer a realm, but since his invasion of Earth was repelled, I think he didn't just get weaker physically, but also emotionally. I think his failed invasion of Earth kinda depressed him to the point where he simply lost the will to conquer any realms.

All of this, of course, eventually led to his demise at the hands of the Deadly Alliance. I think the only reason Shao Kahn even came close to conquering Earth is because of Shang Tsung. It was Shang Tsung who came up with the idea of a tournament in Outworld, and it was Shang Tsung who came up with the plan to ressurrect Sindel. If Shang Tsung had never been in the picture at all to begin with, then Shao Kahn would never have broken the rules set forth by the Elder Gods, and he would never have been a victim in a power struggle for Outworld. He had the chance to execute Shang Tsung right after MK1 and before MK2, and he had another opportunity to execute him in MK3, so he should have taken advantage of either opportunity to its fullest extent. I also think Shang Tsung was deliberately failing the Emperor to make him so desperate for Earth that Kahn would be caught off guard when he finally succeeded, giving Shang Tsung a chance to steal all the souls Shao Kahn was going to take, so he'd have enough power to kill Kahn single-handedly.

So if Shao Kahn does return, there's no doubt that he will be pissed at Quan Chi, who was a complete stranger to him the day he met him, but he'll be even MORE pissed at Shang Tsung for stabbing him in the back. He'll also be pissed at the Dragon King, as well. I think he'll be good if he returns, because like I said, look where evil got him.

I don't believe that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi could have killed Shao Kahn. Those two are wanna-be ruler punks.
