I'm amazed no one has posted on this topic yet. We were originally told that Shujinko would be customizable - you could choose his fighting styles and weapon, perhaps his special moves and maybe even fatalities? Was this everybody's impression as well?
But now we're being told that Shujinko will have set styles - Mantis, Shaolin Fist and Dan Tien Dao (sp?). We're talking MKDA Kung Lao with a beard, people. Not only that, but he will have such a diverse set of moves (Scorpion's Spear, Sub-Zero's Freeze, Raiden's Torpedo, etc..) that now he's like the Frankenstein monster of Mortal Kombat.
Now I know MKD just went gold recently so in truth there's no real purpose behind this post other than to gauge what your opinions are on this matter, which is clearly set in stone. I just want to know if anybody is as let down as I am.

Hmm well I know hes kind alike Kung Lao but there at things that he can do that others cant. Hes supposed to be extremely good and thats what hes here for. Theres no problem.
About his set styles, maybe they arent set. Maybe Midway decided to have all their testers play those styles for a reason. I don think that they are set really. Also his clothes can change i think. Things arent set, Midway just makes them like that. If im wrong then its some new info to me.

i think its great, cause if he was gonna be the other way and u able to create a character, and u picked him when i played u online i would drop on u instantly, i dont need another game where everyone uses one charater cause hes byond dominate like errmac was in umk3. and last i recall kung lao was really good in Da, who else had a foward dash and the best mk style jab/ kick

I'm glad you really can't customize his moves in the end. Everyone would probably be Shujinko online if you could do that...

I'm actually a bit disappointed, only reason why is because he's unoriginal. Sure, you could create some guy who's a mix of a bunch of other characters, but as someone you play with? That'd be better as a sub-boss don't you think? Like if you play as Liu Kang, you may think that you got the advantage cuz of your bike kick, but then here you got the sub-boss that has the same move, and his moves hurt more than yours. Anyone agree with me? I think it's a little original with the whole Konquest mode and all, and how he's an old guy at the end, which is pretty cool, but the MK team needs some originality if they want more fans. Sameness doesn't really appeal to people, especially if people didn't like the moves or styles in the first place. I'm not saying they have to appeal to EVERYONE, and I KNOW that there will always be people who hate things that everyone else likes (which is good in a way), but at least they could make him a bit original. There's so many other kicking moves they could give him but they chose Liu's move. There's so many other specials they could give him, but again they stole moves. I'm a bit disappointed but I'll still try him out, even if I don't like the character, I try out all of them, no matter how much I hate them or no matter how much they suck (cough cough HSU HAO cough cough)
