During the Fight Night, FMVs were discussed, making them for every character in the game. Mike responded:
" eevrybody could wait an extra year for the game and pay $30 extra. How does that sound?"
It sounds like this mike, Tekken 4, more than 25 quality FMVs, current price, $19.99

Well, Mortal Kombat is not trying to look like Tekken and other 3D fighting games. Mortal Kombat is original. A thing that amaze me is MK evolve all this years, with news in every game. New characters, new fatalities, new clothes, new moves, secrets. What game do you have to play a whole adventure to release new characters?
I still prefer the endings with photos. It at the same time original because the old mortal kombat had ending like this, and explain more to the character, than a FMV video.

This was the biggest disappointment for me regarding MK: Deadly Alliance and MK: Deception.
I loved the openings of the last two games and since MK4 had FMV endings I couldn't wait to see what Deadly Alliance had in store for us. I was sadly disappointed. Same thing goes for Deception.
Don't get me wrong, I love both games. These are my only major gripes. I would have been happy with simple endings using the in game models instead of the hi-res ones used in the opening. I think the endings would have been much more entertaining to watch. Plus with the motion capture technology it would also be much easier to animate.
And as stated before if other games are already doing this then there is no reason MK shouldn't if they are going to stay "cutting edge" as they claim.

I hope that they had the FMV movies back in both Deadly Alliance and Deception. They could have done what they did with MK4 on the Nintendo 64 version and use the game graphics for the endings. I like to see my favorite characters brought to life. And watching Raiden in the intro made me feel so pumped up before I got into playing the game. I hope MK7 has video endings just like Mortal Kombat 4 did.
