Hello, I am new to this forum and would like to share a few tips with one of my favorite character Jade. She is insanely good in MKD. Her chain combo is one of the fastest and most damaging in the game. Her juggles take a huge chunk of your life bar and it looks so damn cool. I have to admit, it does take high skill to play Jade correctly. She does not have good special moves or 3-4 hit combo that you can abuse. You have to rely on her chain combo and juggles. -Now on to the good stuff-
Not sure if this has been discover before, but jade can do a maximum damage of 115% to Raiden. I call this combo “stick up Rainden’s ass combo” I have tested this out numerous time both online and offline. This should work!!!
1. To achieve the 107% damage and up, Raiden has to be in his weapon stance and performs his torpedo move.
- Block his special move and as soon as he lands perform ;
- 2,3 (in Weapon Stance)...... 2,2,1,CS,4,CS,1,U+3 , the starting value on this combo should be 105%-107%, but with added wall damage and falls the maximum I can pull of is 115%.
- The timing after the 2,4 is critical when you do it online because of the lag. So I believe this is one of the highest damaging combo in the game (take that Shujunko!!!!) =)
Advice to Jade players;
1. To play Jade correctly you have to know her chain combo religiously. You should be able to perform it in your sleep LOL. The main reason is that this combo does high damage when it connects 39% - 40%. The first three hits come out so quick that you can use it to counter your opponent for extra added damage. You have to be quick and anticipate their move. As soon as they start to attack, perform this combo immediately and either they have to waste their breakers or die. LOL.
2. Jade’s green aura special move is extremely useful against any opponents that abuse their projectile. An example will be Smoke player ( lol you guys are so predictable). People seems to use smoke and hide behind his stinky smoke special and wait for you to attack. Jade can use her green aura and walk straight up to Smoke and lay a smack down. This is also useful against Sub-Zero’s freeze clone, Knightwolf’s thunder, and Kobra’s low fireball. (LOL, I had this one kid who play Noob-Smoke and all he did was turtle behind the Stinky Smoke and waited for me . He went on the chat room and stated that I used a game shark because I walked through his smoke’s special move. I had 2 flawless victory on him (POW3ND!!!)
3. Side step is very important in MKD, my advice is to master this move and you will own the game. A little tip for Jade players to use against people who side step your combo. When Jade starts her chain combo, hold the UP button while inputting the button. She should follow them and preventing them from side stepping you. LOL
Jade’s bread and butter combo;
1. fan-zi stance = 2,2,CS...b+2...,4,4,CS,b+2 ( this is one is my favorite, the last animation when Jade flip the Bujutsu stick and the camera shoots in for a close view is beautiful. 33%.
2. Fan-zi stance = 2,2,1,CS,4,CS,3,...b+2....blazing nitro kick (what can I say, this is the SHHTT, the timing for the nitro kick is hard especially when you play online).
For the finally, I will call this the Jade’s death stick combo. After you make your opponents waste all their breakers, all you need is an opening and they will be dead. The starting value is 56% but can go up to 66% if counter. LOL just nasty!!!!
2,3 (in Weapon Stance)...... 2,2,1,CS,4,CS,1,U+3 (tips = make sure you have enough room Jade to land all the hits. Wall sucks!!!!!)
Tips against other Character:
1. Shujunko = with a good Shujunko player this can be tough. He as so many special moves that can pop you up and does nasty damage. Even his throw is setup for a juggle. My advice is to be patient and wait for him to make a mistake and give him a taste of Jade’s death stick cmb. Also, there is this little online glitch when Shujunko does his mantis strike combo. The last pop up hit seems to delay for a second. So make sure you block that hit when he stalls and go in for the kill.
2. Noob-Smoke = LOL, what can I said many people pick them and they are so predictable. If Smoke turtle behind his special stinky fart just use Jade’s green aura move and walk up to his face and give him a slap. The only time I loose to a Noob-Smoke player is when they get me with Smoke’s infinite low punch then grab. LOL mad skill there!!!!!!
3. Night wolf = He seems to be very popular with newbies too. Just side step him and he will get own. Also, use her green aura to avoid his lightning attack.
4. BRC and Daiaru = what can I said they are just cheap when people abuse their broken moves. I still challenge these players for one round then just say no for a rematch. I don’t even disconnect on them, I just take my lost like a man. LOL
