I think it's Jade too but here's a thought that screenshot was probably a little old that had Jade in it and we already know every character will be in Konquest mode, what I'm getting at is that Jade's Konquest model (her UMK 3 outfit) was just put in there, I think the prisoners in the prison will just be models used in Konquest mode.

How do you get that the boots are the same? That's UMK3/T Jade in the cell ,and Jade/Tanya fighting in a new outfit. The boots are obviously different ,get your eyes checked!

One is her primary costume and the other is her alternate outfit.It's Jade!

Jade is a ninja right? I think the new pic is her because she has that ninja-looking flap hanging between her legs. Kind of like how Mileena is also a ninja and has a similar flap on one of her costumes. She also literally has jade gems decorating her boots, and in the full pic you can see that her hair style is unlike Tanya's. She doesnt have those bangs hanging from each side of her head.

O.K ,most of the characters in MK have had an outfit with a "flap" hanging over their crotch ,it's a common use of armor. Were Kai ,Quan Chi ,Baraka ,Kung Lao ,Raiden and Fujin ninjas? No.

The people in the Jail cells have no upgraded in design or anything. Jerek looks way to original like he was in MK4.
That could mean two things...

1.Its just a background look with no meaning at all.......
2.It could be a konquest mode so you can unlock players that look like the players in mk4 and their was no upgrade in design......

i beleive that it is jade in both because it is possible for characters to have different colored costumes and that green only fits 1 girl that isnt wearin a army suit

It's stupid or not, depends on each person, but the alternate costume of Tanya is green, sorry for all Jade fans.

Shinomune is right. That is most likely Tanya. The fact that we haven't seen any confirmed characters in the backround proves that Jade probably isn't an exception. Anyway, the hair looks like Tanya's.

I reckon both girls are Jade. I reckon that the on in the prison is just simply Jade befor ethe remade her for Deception. The developers made the prison stage, and threw in images of the characters inprsioned there just to give everyone an idea fo how it will look. Then they worked on the character designs. I reckon it is Jade, and thet we will see Drahmin, Jarek and Fujin with new looks too.

I hope it's Jade, but I liked Tanya in the two times I played MK4, so I'm not particulary caring.

However, I think it looks more like Tanya's boots in the background than Jades.

OK go to may 2004 and look at the pictures in the jail it is NOT jade it is some one else so .. proving that Jade is NOT locked in jail...
so she may just be a playable character

I think that if you look at her face and hair, you can see that it resembles Tanya in a way.

If that is Tanya I really don't understand why Boon and the rest of the MK team would decide to put her in the colors that Jade is known for, there are even jade jewels on the outfit it makes no sense. I hope that isn't Tanya and if it was then I hope that they changed that outfit. I was also thinking that instead of unlocking the characters those could be unlockable costumes in the cells for characters but I doubt that. If they are there could be some code or some type of move that you could do to unlock them.

Maybe Tanya is deceiving other characters by dressing as Jade, and that will be her Deception. However I doubt this could be possible, I am just guessing here; because I can't find other explanation for Tanya to have that outfit.

i have to be honest. I love Jade and I hate Tanya . I really hope it's Jade. But I know I can't change the MK team. So I'll just hope after the game comes out that all of the screenshots released WITH health bars, It will Say Jade. But again i can't change what happens. Maybe they do read forums and websites and find out what the fans want, maybe not. I'll see like October 10 after everyone buys it and plays it and had enough time to unlock all of the characters. ( Jade would look soo coool in that costume.)

This is a great idea for a thread. I'm glad someone is actually thinking instead of offering uneducated, biased "proof" as in so many threads. You're logic is fundamentally flawed though. Those background models bear a striking resemblance to Jarek's MK4 model and Jade's UMK3 model. Given this, there would be no basis for comparison from an old texture model to an MKD texture model.
