Um, Native Africans were not the only people in the world to cultivate the use of spears as weapons. The Chinese have quite a variety of them and have been using them for centuries.
I, for one, have always thought that Jade was (despite the fact that she is, in the game's view, Edenian) Asian. Her style, weapons, and appearance all look that way to me.

I just wanna know why they changed her weapon. Her fatality was awesome with that staff, having a spear just doesn't fit her. Give the spea to tanya or someone else.

in mk3 she did look black, in the ign bio card she looks white. i know she if from a place that is made up. still skin color is not a nationality.

I was just thinking that this kind of discussion would not even occur in France (because of a republicanist conception of government)... Do you want to apply affirmative action to videogames??? The only thing that makes sense to me is that mk characters are unique and deeply original, and that such a stereotype would lessen the general atmosphere of this game.
