I'm pretty sure they were just joking and the character was just a mock up. They "revealed" this at Comic-Con, which makes sense why they would make the joke seeing as Jimmy Palmiotti is a famous writer in the comic book world. Don't read into this guys.

IF they were going to put Palmiotti in, it would be as a secret character, which they wouldn't reveal this early on when there are still characters from the main roster still to be announced

I found it funny how serious some Cage fans are with that comment, not that I would mind I'd rather have Jimmy ha, ha but chances are he was joking around or trying to throw the fans off.

I can't see this guy replacing Johnny Cage. Whats the point. They shouldn't waste space that could be filled with another decent character.

Out of all the likley characters confirmed so far, I would say that Cage would be up there in the next one to be confirmed as a playable character in this game. My best bet is that both Cage and Raiden will be on the playable roster for this game.

so if the plaable characters are 22 as Boon confirmed in the last mkast,we have other three free spots for each side,plus the 24th final unplayable boss.
My guess are:Reptile,Rayden....and?
Cage?he have good chances to make it...but i think they're going to add a super secret(joke) character for side.
so i think they'll add Ed Boon or John Vogel on the mk side,and Jimmy Palmiotti on the DC side.
they will put Kung Lao,Cage,Mileena and others as dwonloadable characters in near future.

I only liked cage in mk2 and mk 4.I prefer him to stay out of MK v/ DC

Johnny Cage is one of the most well known MK characters. He is most likely going to be in. He was part of the original 3!

Just saying, especially since it was quite clearly a joke and since they're going with MKI and MKII characters he's pretty much a shoe in.
