Look carefully. Kabal has the Sun-Moon in his hands.

And now I've looked again, he has two curved metal blades behind him which may be the Hookswords.

There are no Hookswords behind him. He only has Hookswords in his hands.

He is definatly holding the hookswords.

Nah! They're hookswords! I see what you may have thought were sun/moon wheels, regarding the one in his left hand, but they're not.

Well in Konquest mode in MKDA, it was said that (it was rumoured that) Mavado had taken Kabal's hookswords.

Negative, those are hookswords.

I have stared at that picture for like three hours now, I am really tring to see the Sun Moon and It just is not showing up. Alls I see are HOOK SWORDS. Lots and lots of blood soaked hook swords. DSB

They are hook swords. You can barely see where it curves at the top of them, but they are hook swords. And thats not what made me sure of it, they have the curve thing where the hand is.

I still think those are Sun-Moon. But you all might be right. If they are the Hookswords, then I hope he got some new ones and didn't do anything to Mavado.

...Okay, you're wrong. 110%. There is no argument against it. The topic title is false, and no one ever said Mavado died to begin with.

Sun Moons do not look like that. Go check any weapons site, or hell, go back and check Hsu Hao.

As if you couldn't tell by the handle, you can see the hook blades over his arms. Go blow up the picture. Its blatantly visible.

I think the whole thing with weapons is that they weren't supposed to become trademark weapons for each character (except for a few). Mileena was in MKDA, so Li Mei got the sais (Why would they leave it out? It's a coll weapon). Kabal wasn't in MKDA, so Mavado got his hookswords (Once again, why should it be left out of the game?).

considering in the early games only a few characters had weapons (Kabal, Jade, Mileena and Shao Kahn) OF COURSE they would become identifyable with the character. Kabal moreso than every body else because the hookswords were always visible. You can't have Kabal without the hookswords and I've looked at the screen shot over a hundred times (wow I have no life) and I can say with no doubt in my mind that those are what he is carrying.
You can't have Kabal without his hookswords, you can't have Mileena without her sais, you can't have Jade with out her bo staff, and you can't have Shao Kahn without his Warhammer. Midway knows this and moreover Midway created this identifiability willingly. Sorry man I don't want to sound like I'm trying to bury your argument and raise your tombstone or anything but those are not the Sun Moon weapons that Hsu Hao wielded in DA.

1) they would never give Kabal another weapon then the Hooksword.
2) look at his right shoulder... abit on the right you CLEARLY see the tip (hook) of his Hooksword...

That is clear as crystal water that Kabal is holding his Hookswords!

I’ve just had another good look and they are Hookswords, which means that he has taken them from Mavado or gotten new ones. Hopefully, it's the latter and we'll still see Mavado in game. Alhough he should be in as not a single Red Dragon member has been confirmed yet. And Hsu Hao is dead, so he is the only one remaining unless we get a new Red Dragon member.
