Katas in MKD

I'd be happy with them doing any of the styles as long as there was no doubling up-same kata done by more than one character (even though technically it would not be wrong for 2 characters to know the same syllabus if they do the same style).
Maybe each character could have a weapon form/kata and a weaponless one.

Quan Chi & Blaze had a Katas too (GC version) with the double swords and Tai Chi respectively.
I'd like to see as many as possible, as a MMA, I think Kata's (how my Shotokan instructor pronounces it) are an essential element in Martial Arts. I reckon, if you finish the game with a character, you should see them do a Kata with the credits (ala MK:DA).
And like with the Katas on MK:DA, the characters who are un-playable, but still in 'Arcade' mode (hidden characters for example) should be in the screen savers.

True, more then one mocapper would get the jod done faster.
As for Katas, i personally think that every kharakter should have a kata for each and everyone of their styles, available in an Extras menu after you do something special, like opening a certain koffin(if the krypt is there)or beating the game on hard. Also, though i previously posted that katas are not "tailor made", and remain the same regardless of environement and performer, this is MK, and i would not mind seeing kharakters using their trademark moves if they implement them well. Scorpion, with his spear, is a perfect example since he could perform chain whip movements with it.
Subby's ice clone could also be used in a original manner in a kata, along with Ermac's and Kenshi's teleninetic powers.
I don't want to see Sindel screaming or Kano using an eye laser in the middle of a kata though, those moves are a little harder to incorporate into a kata. Used at the end of the kata, they would be better IMO.

I think that kata would be good to have in MK:D as long as there was a point to it and they weren't just making shit up. Example : Baraka's "Blades" fighting style which obviously isn't a real fighting style at all they should not just MAKE UP a kata for however like Hotaru's Naginata stance would be AWESOME to see one for. Same as Mileena's sai stance I'd be very interested in seeing that as well.

Baraka's blade "style" surely does not exist, but there are weapons that resemble these, such as Nekode claws (such as those used by Vega in street fighter) or Katars ( the Weapons used by Voldo in Soul Calibur 1&2.) And i'd be damned surprised if there were not compulsory forms for those weapons.
But agreed, if a "style" does not exist(like Drahmin's "styles") a compulsory form should not be made up for it.

Let MKDA be alone for a while, and Kata FMVs, kharakter bios, and the introduction movie will display themselves.

YUP, i agree.
