In Konquest if you speak to the one of the various Shao Khan soldiers in Edenia one of the random lines they say is that Kintaro was the one who gave them access to make a second invasion of Edenia after it was freed from Outworld during the events of MK3.
This can only mean that Kintaro had to have survived the events of MK2 and thus could not have been fried to ash by Raiden during the MK2 tournament. As of the events that happened shortly before MKDA Kintaro was still alive, and apparently is still loyal to the forces of evil.
Discuss.

Well if that is accurate, than it'd be a reasonable conclusion that Kintaro is still alive.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Also, Shao Kahn is resurrected in Havik's ending, it says 'Shao Kahn would rule again!', fingers crossed, maybe he will be the boss in MK7 with Kintaro as the sub-boss again? We can only hope..

you can see kintaro in one of the cells of the prison. Since the characters change at random hes not there every round but they deffinatly rendered him in.

From what I heard he just makes a hard-to-find cameo like Motaro which proves nothing of his fate, but the fact that Kahn's troops claim Kintaro took part in the emperor's failed attempt to retake Edenia in the beginning of the events of MKDA proves that Kintaro wasn't killed in MK2. This is the popular belief due to an obscure Motaro bio that claimed Raiden fried Kintaro to ash in an old MK3 homeport instruction manual.
That's my topic, not whether he makes an appearence in Konquest or not.

So, Kintaro actually survived MK2? I wonder why he kept a low profile in MK3? Mabey he was injured badly from Raiden and he stayed deep within Outworld's borders while Shao Kahn was invading Earthrealm?

I've never considered the "Raiden zapped Kintaro" thing canon. It was NOT in an instruction booklet. I own every home version of MK3, including rare versions like the Master System port, and it's not in any of those. It's from a CD rom guide to MK.
Still, I don't know if something said in Konquest can be considered the final truth. There are a LOT of things inconsistent with it.
Since Kahn decided to have Motaro and the other centuarians be his main henchmen I have always assumed Kintaro was just chilling out in Outworld during MK3.

Well that makes no sense to me. Kintaro was obviously loyal to Goro (read his story in mk2). And Goro made an alliance with the Edenians before MK:DA, Why would Kintaro betray Goro?

I know he's located at B-6 in Earthrrealm, but what specific time (if any) does he appear? I've checked every tree and I haven't found him yet.

Kintaro's MK2 bio never said he was loyal to Goro, it just claimed he was outraged that a Shokan lost to a mortal and planned to do something about it.
He probably had a falling out with Goro after he sided with Edenia.

1. kintaro may have been "fried" but resurrected (happens a lot in MK you know)
2. the timeline is wrong... don't trust anything from Konquest as canon... it's f*cked up

Yeah Konquest's timeline is pretty much "frozen" but most. if not all, of the events mentioned in it happened in the "real" MK storyline, even if they weren't portrayed accurately in Konquest itself.
The fact that Kintaro is mentioned in taken part in Kahn's reinvasion of Edenia at least gives the prospect he still lives . And if the other posters claim that the only refence to him being slain is mentioned in a CD guide its likely not cannon anyways.
