Liu Kang Confirmed!

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. This is a sign that the MKO population is getting a bit bored now that we currently have no new info to speculate over. You people can argue all you like, but in the end, Kitana will still be the chick in blue that does cool shit with fans. In the end, that's all that counts.

The main clue about Kitana being evil is that Sonya has always been good. Since we have until now only 2 females from MK side there must be one of them being evil, which is Kitana. I don't think they will include all females from especially MK side as good characters.

What also even support more the idea is their counterparts, DC side have already 1 good and 1 evil female character. Same should occur to MK side, a balance is needed for MK fans and DC fans alone.

You're both right. Boon did specifically say that the frame of reference for the game was sometime between MK2 and MK3. I personally took this to mean that there will be no characters that were introduced after MK2 in the game.

But the point of the game is that good/evil will have to "come together" on both the MK side and the DC side as the two sides do battle with each other. For this game, it really doesn't matter who's a hero and who's a villain. But it seems pretty even so far:

DC Heroes: Superman, Shazam, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash
DC Villains: Joker, Catwoman, Deathstroke (Deathstroke IS a villain, right?)

MK Heroes: Liu Kang, Scorpion (really more neutral), Raiden, Jax, Sonya, Kitana
MK Villains: Kano, Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero (wasn't he a villain during this time frame)?

Also, looking at the possible remaining characters who could get in on the MK side, almost all of them are villains (Reptile, Mileena, Baraka, Smoke, Noob, Shao Kahn, Goro, Kintaro). Only Kung Lao and Johnny Cage are heroes, and I sincerely doubt both of them make it into this game (and neither of them may get in since there's only 2 MK slots left).

No, Sub-Zero was never a villain. Neutral, if not good.

And besides, it's the younger Subz in MK vs. DC.

I think it's fair to say we've been led to clearly observe the two Sub-Zeros as falling either side of the middle. The first was clearly the more corrupt - and until he had to carry a spin-off title - inherently evil brother. Even the redemptions of MKM only did so much to recast his moral fibre.

I always view MK1 Sub Zero more of a Chaotic Netural(doesn't care about good or evil but works for anyone that is willing to hire him aka Quan Chi and Rayden) in MKM and MK1 His little brother as a Netural Good(good guy but does his own thing regardless of the clan rules) in mk 2 and mk 3.

people this is a game. The story doesn't matter. Kitana's allignment has nothing to do with the gameplay.

What the hell are you talking about? Since when has the storyline in video games not matter?
Maybe for you but a lot of MK fans aren't pulled in by the gameplay, we're pulled in by the storyline.

Crow is right. All they did was discuss the origin of her story and how John Tobias imagined her. Then they referenced her original story to be something similar to Catwoman's.

I think everybody needs to take a deep breath here. I highly doubt they would make her completely evil really. Anti-hero perhaps, but not evil. Even if they do it doesn't matter. The game isn't canon and her being evil changes nothing to the game play and that's the heart of this game. Not some conjured up story mode to explain how these worlds "merged".

as far as the counterparts thing goes, i for some reason beleive that sonya has a male counterpart; she has always had a male enemy in the story, so WW and kitana and then mileena and catwomen could be enemies

Ok, but let us not be naif especially after the latest interview with mkast. There's a hidden message or a reason behind their interview, they are definitely hinting to Kitana being evil.

We have many clues until now that Kitana is going to be evil, whereas we've rarely been hearing her being good.

After seeing her in-game model and her copy/paste list of special moves, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I hope her steel fans look amazing in the final version and so not like those in the pics we saw. That's the only thing I'm looking forward from her now, and I was really excited before.

And why couldnt they made her look like her vs screen pic at least? That would had been awesome. She looks GORGEOUS in that pic!!! Even her hair looks better there. Oh well.

Like they said in the MKkast, I can now see why people dont really say much about her, but yeah, I dont think it was fair to ignore her character just because Joker and the others received more attention.

I only need to say this and everyone will understand who cares about this "story" mode it's not cannon so who cares, it's a hack of a game and i am certain by Feb it will be $9.99 cause it will now and then sux end of story.

I too love and want Mileena, but man, thats too much.

Im sure the game is going to be fun. And its going to be very interesting to see what will happen. I cant wait!
