I agree with your opinion. Kitanas bio pretty much says 'I am in Deception' for all to hear. And she should definitely be a sub boss or playable character at the very least.
Having her return with extra speed, powers and some damaging combos would be awesome! I think she'd make a great sub boss, especially if they combine her true Assassin abilities with her new found evil intent.

Well that would be fine..IF she wasn't already mentioned in the storyline as Onaga's bodyguard. I'm not saying that Noob-Smoke sucks or anything, merely that with the story they have written, Kitana makes more sense.

Those were along the lines I was thinking myself. I'm not happy about the whole ressurection thing, but the idea of Kitana as EVIL again is appealing.

anyway I think that Kitana's role in deception is very interesting, however she is not the sub-boss on MKD maybe because she is still being tested by Onaga. What I mean is that Onaga is still not sure what he is going to do for Kitana, so he might send her to do a more "personal" mission like kill Sindel or Jade. Which is going to hurt Sindel's and Jade's feelings more, and that might be Onaga's plan. After all she might go back with Sindel and Jade pretending to be good and yet still being under Onaga's control. However my theory might be wrong after all.

I understand. I personally just don't want her to have anything to do with this game.

That is a possiblity...though I'm not sure he'd have any doubt about her loyalty or ability..after all HE brought her back, so she is completely under his power. It's not like Kitana suddenly decided.."You know what? I'm done with being the good girl, let me work for you now."

From a story standpoint, who knows why she's not the sub-boss. From a game standpoint though, the reason for Noob-Smoke being the sub-boss should be brutally obvious.

Yeah it is. I love it.
Here's a view about what her stroy could entail in the future.
Evil will always be apart of Kitana. Her now working for Onaga through being resurrected could prove to be interesting. Will evil consume her being once more, or will she pull through and combat evil. Or maybe, being evil will make her realise that she misses this side of her somewhat. It may teach her that she has to be evil at times to get to where she wants to be. She must forgive herself! It will however tear her apart if she escapes from the Dragon Kings hold. Finding out she did evil for another bad guy after trying for so long to do good and gain redemption will send her overboard, maybe.

I don’t think Kitana fits the role of Sub-boss, and I still think Noob/Smoke (what a crappy name) don’t fit the role either (even though I already got over it).

I agree, Kitana would a great choice for a sub boss. Personally I hate the idea of noob-Smoke basically being one character. If they were two individuals characters in this game and were the sub bosses then fair enough. But Kitana would make a brilliant Sub boss, fast, powerful, intelligent, beautiful and lethal.

I don't like Kitana. She's very bland and plain to me. Nothing special.

Well think about it..Kitana (even without enhancments) Would definitely be someone to contend with right? She's been around for over 10,000 yrs. For most of that time she was a deadly assassain, constantly refining her skills. IMO, even though she's not my favorite MK female, there is no denying that Kitana is quite powerful, and a deadly fighter.
Pretentious: You're right, from the gameplay stand point, it is completely obvious why...though I think, in this case, it would have been better if storyline had won out.
Ty: I agree, if Kitana was somehow freed, it would be most interesting to see how she would deal with the evil she had done under Onaga's power. The fact that she helped to hurt the very friends that she has been fighting beside for so long. Definitely this would be something to see.

Kitana probably would not make the best sub-boss, and neither would noob-smoke. IMO, noob-smoke is the worst idea to date in the MK series... here's my idea:

Have an endurance match against the "bodyguards":
Kitana
Li Mei
Noob
Smoke
Noob and Smoke are separate because not only is that the way it should have been, it probably would have made more sense.

Take away Kitana from that equation and you've got a great idea.

Li Mei is a bodyguard to Onaga? I thought it was said that Bo Rai Cho freed her from Onaga's army. Am I wrong? Otherwise, that's a pretty decent idea. I loved the endurance matches and would love to see them return..though I think Li Mei should be replaced by Mileena (who also works for Onaga.)

No I would definitely want Li Mei in there. She's a lot better than Millenna, if Li Mei is in fact a bodyguard to Onaga.

Yeah..but I don't think she is though. Bo Rai Cho freed her, she's still good..but just conflicted. She's not a bodyguard to Onaga.
