Kitana is being held "captive" by the Dragon King. I think this could be a really interesting deception. Here are some whacked out ideas I can see happening:

-Kitana is on the Dragon King's side, she is imprisoned for her own protection, and/or to lure the greatest warriors in to the Dragon King's Prison.

Liu Kang and Jade are first on my mind here. If the Dragon King can possess souls, then he might be holding Kitana to lure Kang's soul from the Heavens so he can consume it. This goes with he whole "Liu Kang is the Last Dragon and his blood will make the Dragon Kign immortal" theory. So basically the DK uses love to bring Kang back and kills him a second time becomming immortal (only for Sub-Zero's key to defeating the Dragon King to come into play).

This idea could also be used with Shao Kahn replaced by the Dragon King. Maybe Kitana feels that if Shao Kahn was in control of Edenia instead of Sindel, then her realm would be much better off. Maybe there could be a twist, and Shao Kahn is Jerrod, but Sindel made up the story of Jerrod being a different person to avoid shame. Kitana feels obligated to help her father recover from defeat.

-Kitana is already dead. See above. The Dragon King wants some of the greatest warriors to enter his fortress, so he uses another clone of Kitana (generously donated by Shang Tsung). This could add more depth to Liu Kang, Mileena, Shang Tsung and the Dragon King, as well as creating a new female character.

Crazy Idea that does not make sence!!!!:

It says that Mileena inpersonated kitana... and kitana was "taken" by the Dragon King and Jade saw Kitana's "destiny"..

Could it be that the DK swaped Kitana's and Mileena's bodies so Mileena's infiltation could be esier???
That would give an excute for Mileena and baraka to be fighting.. ot only for demo..

I know it's not goonna happen... but I though it would be interesting to share...

I'm hoping that if Kitana is being held captive by the Dragon King, there will be some way to free her so she will be playable!!!!

As far as we know...she is captured.

About her future...:-/, its possible she wont survive.

Im a real big Kitana fan, but unfortunately I dont think we'll be seeing Kitana as a playable character in any way. (Still hoping tho.) It does seem obvious that Kitana has major role in this storyline, to me it seems as if she has as big a role as The Dragin King himself. And I'm dying to know what. I don't think they'll kill Kitana off though, but I think the Dragon King is using Kitana as a way to lure the Edenians and Earth fighters to his Palace.

Welcome!! I'm a hugh Kitana fan as well .. always cool to see new people. Most of what we know about her story has been told by the others. Hopefully, they won't kill her, and if they do, she will be the next female Johnny Cage and be resurrected time and time again - lol :)
