Konquest mode is cool for unlocking things. It could be a lot better but its cool, i mean its never going to be of 'fable' quality. But still I enjoyed it. What I didnt like was the fact you have to do training in Konquest mode. That slowed things up in my opinoin. Konquest mode should be more like a 3d platform game, eg: 3d Mario brothers or 3d sonic style , you collect coins unlock things learn mk history , carry out missions etc.
Changes needed for mk 7:
1. Practice mode should be combined with Training mode. Where you can be taught or just go freestyle
2. Konquest mode enhanced, training mode removed.
3. Mini games replaced. I would like to see MK1 made into a mini game of soughts. Or perhaps a 2d scrolling game could be a new mini game.
4. MK pong.....or perhaps MK volleyball

1. I've always wondered why the MK series didn't have this feature. It would really help with learning moves and stuff. It would also kick ass if you could practice your fatalities in practice mode...
2. I thought of removing Konquest altogether, but if it does return, I hope it is improved, a lot...
3. A 2D side scroller? Do you mean like Mortal Kombat Mytholigies: Sub-Zero?
That would be pretty cool, but this time, do it for another character, like Sektor...
4.Mortal Kombat: Xtreme Beach Vollyball
I think a 3d version of the old school pong game would be fine. I even posted some ideas about it in another thread...
~ If they do put Pong back in, it should have little "MK-like" things, like...
-the paddles could be bones
-the ball should be a skull that spins when you hit it
-the backgrounds should be like the backgrounds in MK (like the portal, the living forest, ect.)
-it should have 3D graphics
-like Bleed said, there should be power-shots, power-ups, ect...

I agree and disagree. I agree that training and practice should be seprate modes. Practice should be like you have a AI bot to punch around and work with your character. Training mode should be by itself , and not in Konquest. I strongly disagree with the idea of mini games such as MK volleyball. To me games like that should be made for a seprtate MK game by itself, and not take away from the time spent on Mortal Kombat in terms of story, characters and the fighting game itself. One of the many reasons that I disliked Decepion is because the MK team focus too much on Chess and Puzzle fighter that all other things that was Mortal Kombat wasn't as near as good as past mortal kombat games. If MK7 should have any type it should be the same size has Pong was to MK2, galaga was to MK3-MKT , Test Your might was to MK1 and MK: DA and test your site in MK: DA. Again Mini games are just fine as long as they are reasonable short break from the fighting aspect of the game. All other party like mini games like Deception's Puzzle and Chess should have been put on a disc at the same time put to side and more focus on Deception. I hope the MK team does away with mini games like in Decpetion away from future MKs.
When it comes to Konquest I would rather Konquest be like MK: DA's Konquest, instead of Deception's. Since MK: DA Konquest has more to do with the story rather than Deception's plot hole and inpossible storyline quests .

I wholeheartedly agree.
Konquest should be expanded...it should be like the MKDA one (which was alot like Soul Blade for PSX's Weapon Master Mode). You pick your character, and you go on a heavily-story based journey with him/her that details their past, or their current reason for being in MK. The challenges shouldn't be ridiculous like "DEFEAT SOANDSO IN 15 SECONDS WHILE YOU ARE AT 25% HEALTH AND BLEEDING TO DEATH AND YOU CANNOT BLOCK AND YOUR ENEMY IS HEALING AND DOES 300% DAMAGE AND TAKES 10% DAMAGE AND ONLY POP UP ATTACKS HURT!!".
I'm thinking along the lines of 'Defeat enemy using only pop-up/launch attacks' or 'Win with a flawless victory' or 'Win without using Reversals' or 'Dark Kombat' or 'No Special Moves' or 'One-style only', etc etc etc. With each character having unique challenges through Konquest and story information given about them, it would make it much more interesting.
Furthermore, it would be MUCH better if, when beating these challenges throughout your character's Konquest, I'm thining maybe 12-15 challenges total, you get a CHARACTER-SPECIFIC UNLOCKABLE. For example, in the original Soul Blade(Soul Edge) for PSX, everytime you beat a mission challenge, you got a brand new weapon with unique strengths and weaknesses. For MK, it would be great to see different costumes unlocked (I want at least 3-4 alt costumes), costume color variations, story and bios, maybe extra unlockable fatalities, etc...all stuff that makes Konquest fun and worth playing through. In addition I would imagine Koins would also be earned to use in the Krypt.
Sorry for the rant
Now, for Practice/Training, I also completely agree. Practice should be a seperate mode where you can toggle combos to come up on screen, and it asks you to complete them and when you do it successfully, it moves on to the next. Training should be a detailed training session, as they were in MKD's Konquest mode...but they would all be accessible simply by picking which character you want to train with.
I don't know why MK has never had anything like this...it would make it so much easier to pick up and play rather than hearing people whine about Konquest (not attacking anyone in this thread, especially the original post author who I completely agree with).
