Lack of Earthrealm warriors

We have a few earthrealm warriors in MK:D so far Kenshi, Subzero, Nightwolf and Kabal. Where are all the Earthrealm warriors. Are we going to see the next generation start comming through. Eg MK:DA Frost, MK4 Fujin.

There was a theory floating about, that this MK doesn’t take place on earth thus the lack of earth realm warriors. It’s more based on the Dragon Kings attack on Outworld + it’s supposed to follow on right after DA.

Having said that, it doesn’t really explain where all the earth realm warriors from DA went.

And, does anybody know how soon after DA this MK is?? Are we talking minutes/days/weeks etc?
