With the release of the recent bios and pictures etc..... a few things spring too mind. 1. After seeing the elder gods Scorpion becomes a good guy (possible lui kang replacement as champ) 2. Rayden looks like he did in mkda

Now now now, no one said Scorpion was a good guy. He just may have a mission to accomplish.

It says that Scorpion is neutral. So what he met with the elder gods. That doesn't make him good.

I don't think Scorpion will be the new hero, but I think there is a decent chance he'll become good. It seems like the more likely scenario to me. After all, if he was doing their bidding just to get closer to achieving vengeance, the elder gods would have seen right through him.

Usually, when Scorpion "dies", he goes right back to the pits of Hell! Now when he was thrown in the Soulnado, his hellspawn body was supposed to have been ripped apart by the purity of Heaven, and he was supposed to have gone right back to Hell. How he escaped such a fate is beyond me, but we are seeing a twist in Scorpion's storyline that we have been awaiting for a LONG time!

But what can we speculate about Scorpion's storyline? We know it involves the Elder Gods. Will he make a pact with them, or is he a direct threat against them? If I were in Scorpion's shoes, I would choose to threaten the Elder Gods, because I am of the firm belief that the Elder Gods are no better than Shinnok, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, the Dragon King, etc. simply because of their neglegence as of late. They refused to assist Raiden in stopping Shao Kahn's invasion in MK3/UMK3/MKT, and they also chose NOT to stop the Deadly Alliance, and in both cases, they KNEW the treachery all along.

If they neglected Earth before, then it's possible that the Elder Gods KNEW that Quan Chi sent Sub-Zero and Scorpion to retrieve the Map of the Elements so that Quan Chi could give the Amulet to Shinnok, but the Elder Gods did NOTHING to stop Quan Chi, and as a result of this neglegence, Scorpion's ninja clan, his wife, and his child are dead at Quan Chi's hands. That would mean Scorpion would still desire vengeance, but once again, against someone else.

Another reason why I wouldn't trust the Elder Gods if I were in Scorpion's shoes is because Scorpion has made pacts with people before, only to get stabbed in the back in the end. This might have happened when he made a pact with Shao Kahn, but Scorpion, himself, may have broken his end of the bargain. We all know he got stabbed in the back in the pact he made with Quan Chi, and that's how he learned that Quan Chi was the true murderer of Scorpion's clan and family. However, what Scorpion wants with the Elder Gods, vice versa, is anyone's guess. We'll have to wait and see.

Well perhaps scorpion is the deception. I know this is a bit 'wacky' in notion but perhaps he is not a demon after all, perhaps an angel working in secret, nudge, nudge, wink, wink,

I could see why the Elder Gods have done nothing to prevent the attacks on Outworld. The Elder Gods are the creators of Earthrealm, not any other realm. I believe that their view does not extend into the other realms.

In Mortal Kombat 3 Shao Kahn suprised the entire realm by opening a portal that merged Outworld and Earthrealm into one. Shao Kahn's power manipulated the will of the gods and for that they were powerless to do anything to stop Shao Kahn. The Earthrealm warriors were the only ones who possesed the will to fight back against Shao Kahn. Since Raiden was a god he was forced to stay in the heavens and observe what was going on in the conquered Earthrealm because the realms were merged together.

In Mortal Kombat Mythologies and Mortal Kombat 4 the Elder Gods had the guardians of Earth protected the amulet that Quan Chi had been searching for. The gods were not strong enough to hold back Sub-Zero who possesed a strength that was able to achieve the amulet. While Sub-Zero gave the amulet to Quan Chi left Earthrealm to formulate a plot to use the new powers he had achieved from the amulet. The Elder Gods were not able to do anything because Quan Chi left with the amulet before they could.

In MK4 Raiden and the Earthrealm warriors had gone after Quan Chi in Shinnok with the aid of the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods granted Johnny Cage new life at the request of Raiden and the Earthrealm warriors had joined forces to battle against Shinnok and Quan Chi.

In Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance the Elder Gods were not able to do anything because the events took place in Outworld. Earthrealm thought that Quan Chi was banished to the Netherealm but they knew that he was not due to Liu Kang's death at the hands of him and Shang Tsung. Both of the Sorcerers retreated into the Outworld and were in power. Raiden was enraged that the Elder Gods had not seen this coming and he was denied any further aid because there were no more threats happening in Earthrealm. Raiden had relinquished his status as an Elder God to aid the Earthrealm warriors to travel to Outworld and join their fight.

I see the Elder Gods very different from the villains. Shinnok must have betrayed them all because he was not satisfied with anything of that realm and he hated the way the other Elder Gods followed a code. Raiden has the same feelings but he controls them and he is satisfied with the fact that he is not alone in protecting the lives that are in asylum in Earthrealm.

Shinnok didn't want to just watch and govern Earthrealm. He wanted to POSSESS it. He wanted to OWN it, every last piece of land and water on it. He wanted POWER over it.

Elder Gods are just supposed to watch and govern (govern as in give wisdom whenever it is asked for).

I have to beg to differ with the Deadly Alliance thing. They should've come down to stomp some sorcerer ass when Quan Chi opened up a portal to the Heavens for Shang Tsung to feed off the souls there and/or use them to ressurrect an undefeatable army. I mean, when some evil sorcerer opens a portal into your backyard to kidnap and eat the souls that you're sworn to protect, I'd be a little pissed, too. Yet the Elder Gods did NOTHING to stop it.

Also, Raiden was cut off from the Heavens in MK3, hence his need to take human form in order to stay alive. It was MK2 for him all over again: on his own, and without most of his godly powers. And, the Elders didn't help out in MK4 because they were devastated in the preemptive strike that Shinnok launched at them once he was free from the Netherealm. As Raiden's bio explained, after the attack, he was only one of the few gods in the Heavens that survived. Hence, the Elders were too weak from the attack to lend much help.

In any case, there were plenty of times that the Elders could've predicted and prevented these events from happening, yet did nothing to stop it. And, the Elders are the creators of EVERY realm, not just Earth, so it's their responsibility to keep the peace between them. If one realm upsets the balance of power between it and another realm, it was their job to re-balance it and stomp the ass of whoever unbalanced it in the first place. Since many people from other realms have already tried this (like Shinnok and Shao Khan) and they did little to prevent it or fix it.
