Lets hope hidden characters peer out from the background/drop down/give hints/etc in MKD

It was so fun when playing MK1 and reptile would drop down and give hints to his whereabouts. Then in MKII, Jade and Smoke would peer out from behind the trees in the living forest stage. This really gave MK1 and MK2 a sense of awe and mystery. Boon bring this concept back to MKD! For example, say Smoke is a hidden character in MKD, sometimes you will get a quick glimpse of him in a background and then a second later he will disappear(teleport) in a puff of smoke. The trail of smoke that he leaves behind will then begin to form words that give hints as to how to find him.

Agree. We need secrets that tease us to find them not secrets that can be obtainable through easilly unlocking stuff in a krypt or kombat kodes.

I think it would be kool if lets say smoke is a hidden character and all of a sudden he would run around in the background (in 3-d not just 2-d) and drop a bomb out of his chest or even just vanish. and continue with ultimate ryu's sequence.

Agreed!!! I wish they'd do that! It was never the same after MK2.
Here's an idea: You fight in a big room with a mirror. When you are fighting in front of the mirror (or walk past it), a fighter can be seen in the reflection, but when you look around, he's not there! Now that's a tease!

I love your idea.
I really liked that in MK2. Hopefully it'll happen in MK:De.
Sort of like in the prision stage.

"Toasty!" *squish* Wipes off hand on edge of desk.

Anyways, all the ideas so far seem great. I just hope its not too obvious otherwise it wouldn't really be much of a secret.

Awesome idea! Maybe when you go past the mirror again, a clue could be written on it.

Anyway, this type of secret should return. It'd add a lot more interest and fun to MKD.

Awesome concept! Anyone else have more of these sweet ideas?

i agree with the idea about bringing back hidden characters and clues on certain levels. i also think they should bring back the question mark and you could fight a secret character by winning the previous match without blocking and have a double flawless and do a fatality.

I get a feeling that the prison stage in MKD is going to be just like Shao Kahn's Arena in MK2. I think the characters are just gonna be in their cells looking bored, wondering why they didn't make it to MKD. Lol! I hope I'm wrong here. I hope that they are secret characters, or if not at least interactive in some way.
Here's an idea I wish they had implemented in MKDA in the Kuatan Palace arena (the one with the shokan warrior heads around it and the lava surrounding it):
When you finish your opponent, you tap in a 'kode'. A pair of grappling hook like chains drop from the ceiling and fall into the lava. After a while, it yanks out a large coffin, and lowers it in the arena floor itself. The announcer says "Goro lives!", and sure enough, as the coffin door opens, Goro steps out (he could be a zombie or spirit, whichever!), and you fight him! I think something like that would've been great for MKDA. It would've been a little MK2-ish, in the sense that you could fight a hidden challenger in one player mode (Jade in MK2) or 2 player mode (Smoke in MK2). They really should have made the drummer fightable. Sigh......
I wish Boon & Co would add something like that to some of the arenas in MKD.

Brilliant idea. I think Kuantan palace will be in MKD. Didnt Boon say that some of the MKDA backgrounds will return in MKD and I thought I saw a pic of this stage in MKD somewhere.

I agree with in game hidden characters. I'ts fun to try and find them without having to buy them or cheat.

One or two cool ideas: In the prison stage you have to back your opponent into the bars, one or more guys could hold him against the bars while you unleash a combo or something and the bars break and one or more hidden characters could escape for you to track down or end up fighting him right there.

In the Graveyard(if it's in the game) you would have to do a few things throughout the fight or game, while fighting on the stage, you could knock down the correct tombstone or open a grave to find or unlock secrets for a hidden character maybe like Liu Kang.furious

I think most of the clues would be in konquest mode since thats where we are expected to unlock stuff.
one idea might be your walking in a forest (one similar to the living forest in mkII) and you get your hint there

actually in a trailer in konquest mode( the newest trailer) it shows someone run behind a tree really fast and camoflauge and when the shuginko went behind the tree the creature was gone. it was a camoflauging crap so i think it was a new look for chamleon i am almost sure, it looks like a chamleon now, just like reptile looks like a reptile.
